Hi guys,
All the new stuff you need to update your XEDE to current v3 spec can be found here:
http://www.vishnutuning.com/secret/
Instructions:
1) Download and show all maps from your XEDE using whatever version of XMAP you currently are using. Using the "Print Screen" feature (Alt-Print Screen), take a snapshot each of the following tabes: Fuel (aka MAF), Timing (aka CAS), Boost (aka unknown). Ignore the Knock table. Save all these pictures on your desktop. Make sure you get a good complete shot of each table.
2) Create a new folder on your desktop.
3) Go to http://www.vishnutuning.com/secret/
Save the following files into that new folder on your desktop:
SMART template pump gas (4k)
SMART template race gas (4k)
XCode V3203_SMART_Firmware.hex (195k)
XMap3 V3_0_2_9 Installer.zip (1.5M)
XMap3_2 User Version Upgrade (666k)
4) Double-click on XMap3 V3_0_2_9 Installer.zip. Then double-click on the unzipped file to install Xmap v3 tuning software on your computer. Just follow the installation directions. It's easy.
5) Unzip XMap3_2 User Version Upgrade.zip. Then select the contents and Drag them into your Xmap v3 folder which should be in C: drive -> Program Files -> XEDE -> XMAP3. This may replace a few files which already exist in that folder. This is okay.
6) Double-click on the XMAP 3_2 User Version icon in the XMAP3 folder. This should open up the latest version of the XMAP tuning software. The screen should look like this:

7) To confirm that you are now running the correct software, try opening up either one of the SMART map (either SMART template pump gas or SMART template race gas) Once all the maps open up, it should look something like this:

8) Now here is the fun part. Well not really. Remember those screen shots of all those maps that you took earlier? Now you need to manually copy over all that table data into the new SMART map template. You will notice that the Fuel, Timing and Boost tables are all zero'd out. Within a couple of weeks, we will have a nice Copy/Paste feature. If you want to wait until then, feel free. If you're feeling plucky and have 30 minutes to spare, keep going with these instructions. Just MAKE SURE that all the data is correct. The last thing you want is a nasty typo that could blow up your motor.
Dont forget to rename and save your new SMART-upgraded map(s). You wouldn't want all that time you spent to go to waste.
Important: Make sure you use the SMART pump gas template when transfering over a pump gas map and the SMART race gas template when transfering over a race gas map. What's the difference? Check out the SMART fuel table. You'll see that the SMART corrections are biased towards a leaner AFR in the race gas template.
9) Using Xupdate and the firmware file you downloaded (XCode V3203_SMART_Firmware.hex) update the firmware in your XEDE. See https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/sh...d.php?t=151176 for more details on how to do this (as well as install/wire all the other components of your SMART system).
10) Once the firmware is updated, you can upload and burn your newly created SMART maps to your XEDE. To confirm that all the wiring is correct, you will need to look to see if your knock buffer signal and AFR signal look normal. For this, go to the Live Data Display in your Xmap software. Go to the "Diagnosis" menu and select "Live Data Display". It will look something like this:

... with the exception of displaying realtime data in bar graph form. With the car fully warmed up idling and XMAP communicating with your XEDE, the values in AN0in (which is the knock buffer input) should be in the 14-19 range. If you rev the engine to 7000rpm and hold it there, the data value should jump considerably higher (perhaps 50, depending on the sonic character of your engine). If this is the case, the knock buffer is installed correctly and the SMART timing system is working properly. To test the functionality of your wideband/SMART fuel system, look at the AN1in data display. At idle (on a fully warmed up car), it should read around 45-50 with some movement as the closed loop fuel control system is active. Under boost, this value should drop considerably (15-30, depending on RPM). If this is the case, the SMART fuel system and wideband o2 sensor is functioning properly.
Please note that the update rate of the Live Tuning Display is reasonably slow so you might have to wait a second or two until you see the desired value.
FAQ
Q: But what if I don't have the SMART Upgrade? Should I still do this?
A: Yes. This new software provides enough software flexability for you to do very cool things (launch control, high speed datalogging, etc,.) But if you don't have the SMART hardware (knock buffer, wideband o2 and CReader), you will need to make some quick and easy changes. These changes are:
First, Zero out the entire SMART Timing table. With no knock input coming from the knock buffer, you can't rely on the corrections in the SMART timing table.
Second, Zero out the entire SMART Fuel table. With no AFR input coming from the wideband 02 sensor, you can't rely on the corrections in the SMART fuel table.

xflash.dll error. what's this? happens everytime i open the v3.2 user version. how do we set it to open every map in the new version? if i click on the fuel template it opens in the old v3. like a default.
Will we be able to look at an A/F graph which is correlated to a normal A/F value? I am seeing a possible range of say 15-50 from what you said is normal for the AN1in, but I do not know what number matches what ratio.
And does this new version datalog, or do we need to do a run while having someone look at the computer screen?

So, for users without SMART equipment, can we just save our old maps and import them into 3.0.2.9 and skip all the manual labor? Also, is the launch control in these new map files? Thanks.
Shiv:
Can I zero out smart fuel correction until I have time to install the wideband and just run the smart timing, etc for a few days with no issues?
Edit: I found the closed loop boost control option in the new Xmap. You could say I'm very curious on how to employ this option!
