Hi guys,
Our evom administrator and my personal friend, Mark Modaressi (KK), passed away this evening in a hospital in Las Vegas. He was one of the victims of the appalling hit and run incident where a man drove his car into 13 innocent people who where walking down the Las Vegas strip. Not everyone has had the pleasure of knowing Mark. And not everyone knows what a truly special person he was. He was a wonderfully sincere, kind and genuine man. The kind of guy you feel better just knowing. He gave a lot to our community and asked for nothing in return. Without him, we wouldn't have the community we have today. He leaves behind his family and his fiancee who are by his side at the Las Vegas hospital as I type this. Our blessings and prayers are with them in this time of mourning.
The community will give back to Mark and his family the kind of unconditional support he gave to us.

Footprints in the Sand
One night I dreamed I was walking along the beach with the Lord. Many scenes from my life flashed across the sky.
In each scene I noticed footprints in the sand.
Sometimes there were two sets of footprints,
other times there were one set of footprints.
This bothered me because I noticed
that during the low periods of my life,
when I was suffering from
anguish, sorrow or defeat,
I could see only one set of footprints.
So I said to the Lord,
“You promised me Lord,
that if I followed you,
you would walk with me always.
But I have noticed that during the most trying periods of my life
there have only been one set of footprints in the sand.
Why, when I needed you most, you have not been there for me?”
The Lord replied,
“The times when you have seen only one set of footprints in the sand,
is when I carried you.”
I hope this will help even a little. please send our condolance to the family from the evo vamily

Wow, very sad. The fragility of life blows my mind sometimes. I had the pleasure of talking to Mark on the phone for awhile one afternoon. He was one of those guys that truly undersood this industry well and loved motorsports. He ran this site with integrity and cheer. My prayers and hopes go out to his family and frends, as I know he'll be missed deeply.
What a terrible tragedy. I had the honor of meeting and getting to know Mark when he lived back here on the East coast. He was instrumental in getting the first Dyno Days organized back here and his work on this website has been a Godsend to all Evo enthusiasts. He was truly a selfless individual and dedicated enthusiast who will be missed greatly.
My sincere condolences to his fiancee, family, and friends.

Shiv - you said it perfectly.
Upon meeting him, you quickly got the sense that he was a unique and rare individual, a sweet kind-hearted person; very much beyond his years.
Maybe he was too good for this crazy chaotic world.

Bump.
Life is a precious balance of getting what you can out of what you are given not knowing how long you have to accomplish it. Sudden losses like this, are very difficult on all that are involved.
At times like this, with the situation with the losses and disappearance of friends/acquaintances is difficult at best. I hope that my support will help others in their time of loss.
Chris.
