1st Evo 9 tuned by Vishnu Review
What are we fighting about again?
I've driven both cars. Sure the 9 feels a little better but it certainly is not a HUGE change.
I'm drunk with power though. Both the 05 and 06 felt slow to me.

Honda's performance oriented "three rocker" VTEC actually uses a low lift cam at lower rpm's, and switches to a high lift cam at higher rpm's. Toyota does the same thing (though different execution) with their VVTLi system. However, it appears
is developing a similar system, though from what I could find, it is first appearing on the (JDM?) Grandia 2.4L. Does anyone have any more info on this?BTW, sorry about hijacking the thread.

Keep up the good work Shiv.

Eitherway if I was EVOless I would definately get the 06 over a used 05. My dealer is selling at invoice with whatever perks are available this month.

Its not exactly track season in USA so don't hold your breath to long to find those time slips. Not every single dyno to be supported with a time slip, because tuners like Shiv/Nick/etc. have no reason to inflate their numbers to make their customers feel good.

you know what.. for once it seems other tuners are not inflating their numbers.... part of this is due to dynos that no longer read SUPER high (remember its now stylish to have a low reading dyno) .. but if you look arround most tuners are not getting near shivs 270 whp with just a flash. In comparison a dyno jet flash would need to make 290-300 whp to be equal to the 270. I have seen a couple tuners that use mustang dynos only makin arround 235 whp after flash.
the 10.5 is a great mod in my opinion.. the max power output on race gas is about 20 whp higher with the 10.5. As far as the miniscule increase in lag, i think that is worth the extra power.

This will be my last post in this thread. I believe the numbers Vishnu is providing but I also believe all the other dyno numbers. Every year there are some strong factory freaks. I'll just wait till spring to see what all those 9 run. So far they've all ran about the same thing the 05s run. Supposedly....30WHP should be worth at least 3MPH so trapping 109/110 should be normal on a stock nine.

whats with people hating teh IX, i dont have one but im happy that it is making more power. whats so hard to believe? shiv posted stock vs flashed dyno charts. what more do people need? You people dont have to believe they are faster, but you will see next track season.
