Damn! -5/-5? never heard of that, my 272's were at -2/-2. my 280's are at -2/-1. and now re-set to 0/0. I guess the idle would change with settings like that!

-5, -5 is how the gears are supposed to be with stock cams. Can't help you with the idle question though.

Is the timing belt off a tooth? otherwise, I would say its OK. Call e-mail Vishnu for confirmation though. Good luck, and keep us posted.

No, the Vishnu Stage 1 package requires you to set your stock cams at -5/-5. That is how mine is set up. BTW my car idles no different than stock. The only thing I noticed is that my vacuum idle went down about 2 In.Hg.

well yes idle is the same but when i listen to my engine at idle or i listen to my back exhaust the noise it normally produces has like a blurp sound its kind of hard to descibe but if you listen to your engine at idle is the sound consistent or is it an inturrupted sound?

Are these adjustable cam gears? can you see if they are on their marks? did you get the correct map with your XEDE? did you send it in for a flash? Do you have any other mods?

is that the only thing you did was put the Gears on? or did you hook up your XEDE at the same time? how is the driveability?
