I used the BP8s myself gapped at 24-25ish. Regardless, try changin plugs and gap them to 25-26 and see if that helps.

When doing that it felt like it lost power because I guess you tuned it for VTA. Now recently I put a Greddy RS BOV recirculating. When I put that on I felt it holding boost more thus having more power again. But now it's acting up...So does anyone know what might it be? You think I need to retune it? All you help will be appreciated.
Hard to say what it is. Any chance you could come by and let us check it out. Just call for an appointment. We'll be closed Mon and Tues but will be back on Wed

Are you saying that by resetting your ECU, your RPM @ 80mph in fifth gear changed by 500 rpm afterwards? Unless a genie magically changed your gear ratios at the same time I'm not seeing that happen. Or are you saying your misfiring problem moved 500 rpm lower in the midrange?

Okay sorry for the long delay. Here's an update. I finally changed out my plugs. Went with NGK's BPR7ES. Put them in this morning started it up...looked fine...drove it felt fine...punched it....same thing. At WOT around 5k rpms it feels like fuel cut. So now Im confused. I looked around if I have any boost leaks...none. The only thing is the vacum hose that connects to the greddy type rs bov is not tight. clamps are there but youi could still slide it off. Could that be the problem? I'll Change out the hose tonight with the one supplied with the bov. And I'll update... but would that really affect anything??? Any other ideas would be appreciated...THANKS!!!

Go check the "clunking from my glovebox thread", see if that is your problem! Good luck (My thread)

Had the problem for 1+ year, and I explained over there, why changing the plugs made it better for "a little while"

Okay I looked at the bolts...everything looked good and tight. And the problem occured before I even touched the plugs. Any other suggestions? Or do you think that the 'wires' are bad...if so I could bring it back to mitsu and have them replace the wires with warranty

I would definitely recommend replacing the wires as they have been the culprate in similar situations for me.

Ok quiksilver, in the initial post you said your problem is "before" 4500rpm, and over 4500RPM, the problem disappears. and now it looks like the problem is at 5K. Correct? or did I mis-read again? I would have an evo-friend come over, and swap the plug wires to see if that is the problem. I think today or this weekend, we will have your problem figured out! If you could, elaborate on your problem a bit more, when first noticed, how often it does it, have you added any new parts since the problem started, do you have any other problems you noticed first etc...I will be in and out of this site all day, and I will watch for updates.

I now have the same problem with my car. I started getting the hiccups, burbs, misfires, etc. It has gotten worse. I replace the plugs to rule out the problem. That was not it. I now suspect that the coil packs are going out. I will swap in a known good set of coils and report later.

Have you tightened the coil bolts? are they stripped? can you take them off (bolts) with your fingers?

My car just started misfiring today. Any load over 4500RPM and it feels like I am hitting a rev limiter. I will be swaping my plugs tomorrow to see if this helps.

In nuetral it will rev clean to redline.
