I hear a "clunking" from my glove box!!!???
I have been told it might be a bad Harness. Will keep you all posted. I can touch the wires on the Xede, at the connectors on the "box" and make the car stall out. Maybe it is a wire that feeds the boost relay?
Here is another development.
Every gear, when the boost gets to 19, it feels like fuel cut. cant get past 19psi. I was told the methanol kit can be the culprit. shorted out (surely a possibility). I turned the blue knob to the OFF position, (red light off), disconnected the MAP sensor under the hood, and disconnected the alky pump, and the same thing happens, fuel cut at 19psi of boost.
Something else also happened. I started the car, and the car ran fine, and I looked at the Xede, and it was flashing ORANGE!
I turned the car off, and re-started it immediatley, and it was GREEN as usual. I dont know how many times it has flashed ORANGE, as I only had the glovebox off for a week, trying to find out where the sound is coming from. Could this be an issue with the XEDE wiring harness? Keep the good help comming! I appreciate it!

Here is what I found:
19 psi boost-TOPS! started somewhere after tune from Dyno4mance. Have added (or at least got working) AMS meth. injection. Added HKS DLI II spark enhancer, magnacor plug wires.
I disconnected the ALKY kit, problem still persists. NOT running overly rich when I hit the 19psi.
I believe if the alky box was shorting out, it still could be "on" even though it is OFF.
I was told it could be the wiring harness from the Xede to the ECU.( Still have the "thumping" around the ECU and XEDE box.) It is NOT the blower fan, or anything behind the boxes. Was confirmed by my mechanic riding shotgun.
Shiv called me today, (Thanks again Shiv!
) and mentioned the fact it may be one of the items I have installed post Andrew's Dyno in July. He recommended I remove all the parts post dyno,(Alky, HKS DLI II, and see which one seems to be the culprit. (process of elimination). I will do these things tomorrow, as that recommendation makes sence. I will report back with my findings. If actually anyone is looking in and cares. Maybe I am the only one with these issues?!!?
The sound when I hit 19psi of boost, is like pulling the trigger on a machine gun and doing short bursts (5 rounds per trigger pull) It isn't the plugs, I went thru 16 plugs to get the correct gap. .024. The plugs have 200 miles on them.
I never got to run the car up to high boost, as I was having issues with the oil pump balance shaft, and I had a hard time figuring the problem out.
Is there any way to put the HKS DLI on WRONG? I didn't install it, the Mitshu dealership mechanic did it. Could this item be overkill, and NOT NEEDED? I have learned the hard way, about buying parts which yield diminished returns, could this spark amplifier be one? Thanks for looking in.

Have you ever replaced the faulty Alky box I diagnosed (the box in your coin tray)...it was pulling the 5v down when it was connected IMO an obvious circuit problem.....It needs either repairing or replacing...When it is connected it will make your car run VERY leanI told you this is what I recommended back in the spring last year, did you do this?....If you have not I am sure the problem still exists

I figured out the problem with the faulty box. I needed the VOLTAGE regulator, which I didn't have, but installed with a new MAP sensor when I got back home from the dynotune with you in July?. It worked fine. In order to see if that was the problem, I cut the wires to the Alky kit tonight, but the problem persisted, (no boost over 19psi)with the Meth box disconnected. I was at a traffic light for a run with the meth disconnected, and I saw the AFR's go from 15/14/13/12/11 then flat-line to ----. Needless to say, I needed a tow home, as somehow the IC pipe filled with Meth again. Maybe I cut too many wires. I had the meth kit working well,(for 4 months, until tonight) I had it set to start at 8psi of boost, then someone told me set it at 16psi, and that seemed to work well, I could feel the "hit" and the afr's were good. I think back, and I believe my 19psi limit started AFTER I had the HKS DLI II installed. Maybe I should have cut those wires first. now I have to have the car towed to re-install the meth kit......or should I leave it off? If I do leave it off, how much HP do you think it would cost me? I probably could save the money from Headache medicine.
You DID diagnose the problem down there, but I had it remedied later up here. If you run a MAF, you need the Voltage regulator. If you run the AEM EMS, you dont. I guess they thought I had the AEM standalone!
Any other insights on how (or if) the HKS DLI II can/could cause my problem? and I still hear the clicking near the 2 Boxes.
Thanks for looking in! Good thing I didn't bring it down for a tune yet! you might have to have taken me in as a "house-pet"! Till we figured out the problem.

UPDATE:
I have the car up and running. re-soldered the wires. My next step was to Dis-connect the HKS DLI II spark amplifier. I disconnected them at the coil, and re-attached the STOCK ones. So with the Methanol disconnected, turned off, and the pump disconnected, PLUS the HKS DLI II disconnected, I STILL HAVE THE PROBLEM! machine gun rapid fire at short bursts. Whats next the wiring harness? The ECU? The XEDE? Where do I turn now? (besides turning around and jumping off the cliff behind me!)

I am a little unclear on your situation, but if you think the xede may be having some effect, disconnect it all together, and see how the car works out. You may just need new plugs btw.

And Dustin, I know if I sent the wires/Xede to you, you would (as you always do,) remedy the problem. I always appreciate you guys! Andrew at Dyno4mance is also a great help!
Maybe that is why the bolt holes are "shiney", as they need good contact to ground them. I am not sure, but will know soon.
In that case, I agree with Chris.
I would guess a bad coil. By you removing them, you could help whatever connection problem you are having, until it wiggled loose again. Obviously, get them bolted back down tightly, and see if this fixes the problem. My guess is that it wont, but I think replacing the coil pack will. Only testing will tell.

I have just fixed an evo this afternoon that was displaying the same symptoms...
It turns out it was a plug wire that was broken internally...I replaced, and the car is fixed ...No more machine gun fire....I think your problem must be linked to your ignition system in some way....

I have re-inserted the bolts into the head. (After the last run 20 minutes earlier) And got to the boost off the bat, and the 1st time I saw 23 lbs of boost, and NO cutting out! The next 2 times I got the boost up, I got the same machine gun sound at 21PSI. That is more than the 19psi, and this time I put in a wire to snug 2 bolts up. I then tried another test: remove the HKS DLI II and insert the "stock" coil plugs. I stomped on the gas, and it was bucking like a bronco, and the whole problem was NOTICABLY WORSE! so we re-installed the HKS DLI II plugs, and the problem was back to the cutting out at 21psi! I think the problem is NOT the coils, but the coils being GROUNDED! Since I changed my plugs frequently in the past, I have stripped out the holes in the valve cover, and only 1 bolt per coil was actually snugging it down! I will have the holes re-tapped, and snugged down tight, and I would be you a Beer or a Starbucks that the problem will be GONE! I am optomistic, but I think when someone has "bad-coils", acutally it is BAD ground to the coils, because lots of people stripped out the bolts, and they tend to move up and down when the cover heats up. (the bolts do)
I will keep you all posted to my findings. Thanks for your input, and looking in.
