Car has a flash right now, can I use XEDE

My car already has a flash on it, am I able to use the XEDE even though a flash exists? Also with the XEDE does it eliminate the need for a boost controller, can I just set the XEDE to run 20psi and it will hold it til redline? I really really like this sale...Plus I may be upgrading to ethanol(e85) in the future and want the option to switch maps from 91 oct to e85 (105 oct).

There's no inherent problem with installing an XEDE over a reflash. The only problem is that the baseline XEDE maps may not be appropriate anymore since it is tuning on top of modified ECU maps. But if you plan on tuning yourself, i'd just tune on top of what you have. Unless you find it to be completely unacceptable.

As for boost, the stock turbo won't hold 20psi to redline. It'll drop off to 18psi by 7800rpm. Everything thinks it holds 20psi but it really doesn't. I have dyno logs to prove it

I say the 20psi theoretically speaking But I definitly know what you mean. Here's my situation, I bought my Evo used and it already has a flash on it, I dont know by who or to what extent, the Red line is 7800 rpms and with my mbc I can hit 20 psi til about 5500-6000rpms or so (going off the top of my head.) I just moved from IL (93 oct) to CO (91 Oct) and am afraid my car might not be in tune for the crappy gas here. Would reflashing back to stock then using the XEDE produce the best results? Also I can tune the car by hand with the XEDE unit? And the XEDE does in fact replace needing a MBC?

Ok I answered some of my own questions on your website, will the XEDE override the reflash settings? My goal is 300whp on 91 octane with an intake, turbo-back, and the XEDE is it possible?

knock on wood: I want my car to be detuned easily in the case of warranty work.

The XEDE won't override your reflash settings. You'll just be tuning on top of it. That is, with the XEDE zero'd out, it'll be like running your current flash. The goal, I assume, is to fix whatever problem your reflash has (as well as add more functionality). It will do this just fine.

As for 300whp on pump gas, it's certainly been done before. How easy depends on the type of dyno

Its just that I dont know how my car has been flashed already and I'm looking to add that "margin of safety" along with the added functionality. If I were to buy the XEDE unit how much would it cost for your XEDE Flash? I could afford a few days of downtime.

I'm afraid my flash is for 93 oct and I may be running lean due to running 91 oct.
