I can't see the yellow trace cells on the black and white bitmap. Can you make it a color JPEG or tell me at what RPM you are getting the timing pulled? Is it just 1 cell or is it progressive through the RPM band? -2 is a big timing pull so I would look at your map to determine if you didn't put any positive numbers in your timing graph. If its in the upper RPM range then you'll need to retard the timing up there.

You can email me the color bitmap to JJ_008@hotmail.com too.

Here's another version of an aggressive SMART timing map you can try out:

Something is wierd. The knock is at 50 on the y-axis at 1000-4000rpm. What does your timing map and fuel map look like? Do you have any positive numbers on your timing map?

Here is a bad pic of what he sent me.

Can you send me your XEDE file?

That won't work on any tubular header turbo kit that I have used. My noise floor on both kits has been around 36-40.

Your maps look fine w/ nothing that looks like it would cause it to retard like that. It's alot more conservative then the maps I have made. Shiv may have to help you w/ this one.

Are you using a USB adapter or a serial port?

Yes I am using the USB adapter, and I logged the run with the CommsLog and there is no sign of knock so I don’t know what is happening.

Is the USB to serial showing real time pretty quickly? Commslog doesn't show the big knock noise? Interesting... Can you post up a knock chart of the run in question? I have never used Commslog (I use PyXEDE) so I don't know how easy that will be for you.

http://pyxede.sourceforge.net/

Not the easiest thing to setup, but it works good.

IMHO, I think you should call Vishnu and talk to Shiv or Dustin. Have your maps, logs, and screen saves ready for them. I would like to see Shiv's comments on this. Maybe he'll post up.

For kicks can you send me your Commslog data for the run that had the high knock shown on the SMART timing map? I would like to graph it out and see what going on.

Ok, now where getting somewhere. I have never used Commslog before, but I am pretty sure that it's impossible to have zero knock.

For kicks, go start your car w/ the laptop connected. Open up the live data display in Xmap and check if the ANO is registering 15% at idle. Rev the motor and see if it goes up to 20%.
