SMART Tuning question
SMART Tuning question
Hi guys I have a question for those people ho tuned the SMART system, so if my SMART Timing template is lets say -2 does that mean that I have to put in that particular load in my Timing template -2 of Timing ?
No, you may only need -.75 or -1. Have you found your noise floor on the SMART timing table yet? If you don't, you'll be retarding a ton of timing (-2) using the stock template map. I am assuming you have the GT35R on the car.
The first thing you should do is lower the boost as much as you can and put in some race gas (You can use pump gas, but do lots of runs and error on the conservative side). Zero out your timing map and do a map trace of the SMART timing table. Hit print screen button so you can save the trace. Then zero out anything below that map trace line on the SMART timing table.
Here is a conservative one I did for my GT3076. My current one goes to 38 on the Y axis.

Then you are good to go for some map tracing on the SMART timing map. Once you get a good baseline SMART timing map, then you can move on to removing fuel from the Fuel map and modifying the SMART fuel map.
When I did the basic tune on my car, I never used Commslog. All the data you need is on the map traces of the XEDE maps. Once you have a decent base map, then I used PyXEDE or Commslog to fine tune it over a long stretch of time.
