Quote: Has anyone actually PROVEN that the 5 blade is better than the 6???? I mean, Dave's probably mad at TC.com for selling his "old" 20G so cheap... what better way to undercut their sales then by telling everyone it's not as good.

You all do remember a month or so back the Dave was telling everyone that the 5 blade and 6 blade 20G's performed EXACTLY THE SAME.

According to BR the 6 blade tends to heat the air charge more than the 5 blade.
I'm not sure I buy any of the propaganda at this point.
It's quite the coincidence that such info came out after Buschur's fallout with TC.com.

Let's look at the progression here:

1. 20g wheel in Evo VIII compressor was proclaimed to be "way more powerful than a WR" by Al, and DB assured us that it was the best bolton turbo upgrade.

2. 20g wheel in EVO IX turbo works well, but due to supply problems DB switches to WR wheel in IX turbo.

3. Customers call him out on switching without disclosing info and DB assures everyone that they perform EXACTLY the same.

4. TC.com and DB have an argument with each other, TC.com starts selling IX Turbos and IX 20gs at much cheaper price than DB.

5. DB is disappointed that TC.com would pull such a stunt and admits that he'd like to say their product is inferior but he can't because it isn't.

5. DB finds IAT's going up on the 20g wheeled IX Turbos, and predicts it will make a HUGE difference in the summer months. He offers to give all 6blade 20g-9 customers a free swap to 5blade 20g-9's.

Hmmm...does anyone else see what I'm seeing.

I'm getting the feeling that as soon as all Buschur 20g-9s have 5 blades, there's going to be significant poo-pooing of the 6bladed units from the Buschur/Dynoflash camp. Time will tell I guess.

I think this all sounds like smoke in the mirrors...I personally can't get my head around a 5 bladed compressor wheel being SOOOOOO much better than a 6.... but oh well

Well, I for one am going to stick with the 10.5 hotside upgrade for my 03 and a nice O2 housing with some basic porting/matching work (done with my handy dremel)... My head hurts with all this... Who would have thought it was so hard to verify the results of an "upgrade?" I mean no disrespect, but this has become silly and frustrating... I was close to buying a 20G-9.5, but it sounds like not many people are really seeing gainse on the dyno without other losses?

Oh well, just seems strange... :-(

Same here. I should be plenty happy with that setup for a long while.

I dont think most people extract the full potential of the stock turbo.

Please tell me that there is only one TME. I have one in my garage ready for install, and I did not purchase it by part number.

Thanks.
