Xede, IDLE, and me....

Please, i need some help.

I have 35r, 880cc injectors(xede flashed ECU by shiv)

car idled pretty good with the stock airbox and with my greddy type s sitting in the intake like the stock DV. this weekend i installed an AMS upper IC pipe, intake hardpipe, and filter....the stock airbox and upper pipe just couldn't hack it with the 35r.

so, now the car won't idle for ****. it idles on cold start for the most part....but once its warm it won't even try to grab and idle when i coast to redlight....and it won't idle at all sitting still no matter how long i sit there and feather the throttle. once i quit, it dies.

HELP HELP HELP

what do i do to remedy this skitiation? will the spring mod to the type s help? different positioning of the maf? mainly what i want to know is how you guys with an intake have your low rpm and load cells filled. it seems my car is going pig rich before it dies(9.0 afrs), but i think the xede only controls open loop and if im not mistaken, warm idle is closed loop???? either way, i changed the low load/rpm cells all the way to -30 fuel with not much help at all.

need some answers, PLEASE!

I had a stalling issue w/ my 880cc and big turbo, but I got rid of 85% of it by adjusting my BOV.

what did you do to your BOV? tighten or loosen? as in, make it stiffer or softer?

Loosen makes it softer. You may want to pull out one of the springs out of the BOV too.

I have never seen a Greddy type S, but I assume you would remove the smaller spring.

Also, if you had it tuned before the intake parts (filter, piping), the new parts will throw off the ECU IMMENSELY. If your still running the stock MAF, they hate it when you swap intakes.

Jeff, Why don't you run the stock intake? We made something like 490whp on our dyno with the stock box. Your car will love you for it.

Jeff,
Go one change at a time: 1st, have you had Shiv reflash your ecu to rescale for the huge injectors? Mine idles like a champ, but maybe my increased displacement/stroker characterics has something to do with my good idle.

2nd, the Greddy type S doesn't work very well. I had one and was stall prone. The single spring mod doesn't hold enough boost. Put your stock diverter valve in and see how your car reacts to it. That will tell you if your problems are related to it.

3rd, you need to get a pocket logger or some other form of OBDII logging. Then, check your fuel trims, both short trim and long term. You want them both to be as close to 0 as possible. Large negative numbers will mean your ECU can't pull enough fuel during idle. Also, look at engine load numbers, those numbers should be low at idle. If they are high, your MAF is getting fooled into thinking that you are on the throttle and adds unneeded fuel. I've seen that Gnulooks car when he was using the AMS 3071 turbo kit.

Good luck.
