Great question, some said NON-Synthetic, like the regular "dino-oil". I will get clarification from AMS (or more folks on here who have done it) tomorrow!!

Here you go, this is exactly what I did and the motor has been flawless thus far.

1.Get car, fill with slightly heavier non synthetic, I use havoline 10w30
2.Drive for 50 -100 miles change oil
3.Drive for 100-200 miles change oil
4. Dyno, then aftewards switch over to whaver you were planning on running, mobil 1.....
5. Boost it, but not extensively, feel freer to rev higher and give the engine a good run or two, still taking it easy for another couple miles (1-200)
6.Beat the **** out of it

during 1-4 stay out of boost, keeping rpms varied, and low, if your car is untuned but scaled for injectors, when you are out of boost the ecu operates in what is called closed loop, and it optimizes the a/f ratio, so you do not have to worry about the tune.

Hope this helps!!!!

Scorke

p.s. I am on the beat the **** out of it step right now, and oh boy was the wait worth it.

I heard, but havent found out for sure, that AMS CAN tune the Xede, and I was going to ask them tomorrow when I call. If they do, and will, I am OK!! If not, geeze, I don't know what to do, unless get a shelf map from Dustin at Vishnu or something. AMS tunes with AEM EMS, and has their own flash. I have "someone" elses equipment (Xede), and asking them to tune someone elses stuff in their house, might be asking for too much. I don't know, but will try it!!

They won't have a problem with it. I think Shiv was just on the phone with Martin this morning, as a matter of fact.

+1

Before the whole St. Louis dyno day, I was talking to AMS about getting a tune done. I was told it wouldn't be a problem...but then the St. Louis came up so I went with it.

This might be of some use, I asked awhile back about breaking in a stroker motor and this is what people said...On a side note, my car is being assembled and tuned at Buschur right now and David is breaking in the motor on the dyno.

That is good to know. I was going to go up to AMS, pick up the motor bring it back, and install it at the shop in INDY, drive it around for 600+ breakin miles, then return to AMS and have it tuned. I just want to make sure all is "seated" well.

Dustin, thanks for the input also!
