It will behave just fine. Better than fine, in fact. Even detuned (with the XEDE), it will still make ~20-25whp more than stock at stock boost levels.

Am I reading this correctly? If I currently have an Xede from EVO VIII, I have to pay $600 to get it migrated to an IX. This includes a new harness and a flash, for which I have to remove the ECU from the car and mail it in (and have the car down for a few days) because the Xede does not control MIVEC.

Shiv: Will the flash always be required on the IX or do you still plan on having the Xede control the MIVEC in the near future?

If a flash on the ECU will always be required (unlike being optional on the VIII), I think I'm going sell my Xede as the reason for having it in the first place was so that I didn't have to mail the ECU around the country. (feel free to PM me some offers on my Xede)

you can always get rid of that falsh.. for service and other reasons. shiv can flash it back to bone stock just in case you are worried... it is then undetectable.

Wow $1400 w/o smart so with smart it will be 1800ish down the road? Now you are getting into Autronic / Aem pricing for a piggy back. I wish you would just use the flash out there so we did not have to eat the $250.00 for the flash license. Also will you still be locking our ECU so if we ever want to change the mivec or flash it back to stock we cant do it ourself and have to ship it again? Sounds like a pain to me.

And does the autronic have knock sensing? Or can it, or the AEM, control MIVEC? I wouldn't put a stand-alone on a modern street car if someone paid me to. Been there, done that. About 5 years ago.

The AEM is in the works for the evo and if tuned right just like anything else it works well, and the Autronice has been around a little longer then the xede and I have seen may well running evo's with it. I am not trying to bash the xede hell I used one for a few years and it was great. Maybe I am used to paying 600-1000 for a piggyback and $1400.00 seems a little high to me, but whoknows I am sure someone will buy it.

Reflashing

I upgraded to a IX MR recently from a EVO IIIV. I have kept the xede for the IIIV, if I upgrade/flash now, and later I need to be flashed the ECU back to the original, what will Vishnue charge for that service each time? Thanks

We don't charge anything for that. Never have.
