Shiv, does this mean you have found the problem in the ECU code which you had previousley described? Meaning a few months ago you stated that your reflash was postponed due to finding there was an error in some of the ECUs. Also, I really look forward to this product as I too have had experience with your WRX products which were all top notch. Hopefully, this reflash will maintain a very safe margin of error, as I imagine it will, as I'm concerned about the temperature changes, cold starts, idleing and daily driving.
I hope XFlash gives the ability to change the fuel maps, timings, etc myself with my own PC. I'm not a fan of piggybacks (for reasons not needed to be discussed here) but I am looking for an ECU reflash that allows me to set things up myself. I do track events and at times I may use 104 octane fuels. I may also want to restore the fuel tables to stock whenever I visit the dealer. I also would like to change my rev limiter. Sometimes while doing track events I may want it higher then when on the road. I also would like to be able to be able to tune my car at other shops, not just the shop where I bought the ECU upgrade. There is a really good chance that the ECU will not be my last upgrade. I would like to be able to go to Dynos closer and tune it. In essence, I am looking for something more like dsmlink. Will the XFlash have that capability? Will it basically allow the user to configure the flash through the OBDII interface?
Thanks for any info,

Shiv, what is the advantage / disadvantage vs the XEDE except for the price. I thought that was the easier install and had more control over the stock ecu. Please enlighten me as I am trying to decide which way to go.

Hi guys,
Give me a little time and I'll be happy to answer all the questions regarding XFlash. Just got back from my NJ tuning trip yesterday and need to catch up on a few things. This entire week is going to be spent crossing the Ts and dotting the Is on the XFlash maps.
Cheers,
Shiv

Isn't there a policy against vendor bashing by other vendors on their own boards? Bad form all around
Al, you need to get a Dynoflash forum or something so you can have your own soapbox. Or something...

I was looking at Al's site the other day and looking at all his products and wondering if this guy was any good. So I looked around and fell into this "debate" Now I know that Al is a very unprofessional business man. Some of the stuff you are saying Al is very childish, and a known and respected business man (shiv) would not come onto other people forums and start bashing people if they thought his products sucked. Shiv isn't insecure like Al, shiv KNOWS his products are the best and doesn't need to bash on people when they don't agree with them. Shiv is obviously the bigger person and I would always pick shiv over some insecure tuner.
I have no beef in guys being competitive...I mean we drive Evos after all. But I do have beef when there is a lack of respect in any debate. That lack of respect was shown here, and to be honest maybe it is wise for Shiv not to remove his posts...I mean after all Al is just acting like an *** here which makes him look bad.
At least to me it does. Xede, Dyno, Works...they are ALL good choices. No need for the hate between vendors. Compete hard, but compete with respect.
Thats all I have to say on that.

Maybe not yet. I change my mind every week and may get a 2nd evo to that with. Also could you answer the question about turn around time as well as maybe sending a stock ecu to use with a deposit then when the person get's it back he send the loaner ecu back?

The change came when 350 whp with 93 without have to screw with emissions stuff. I also talked with Brett today for about 30 min, he knows more then I though and told me about a stand alone computer I can not think of the name right now but that looked pretty nice. I am thinking about getting a 2nd evo and just use it as a race car, but like I said before you service is slow but your products are nice.
