i see no reason to change the stock airbox, but although since the idea is mentioned, what would the possiblilities of developing a map that would cooperate with a VTA BOV such as the HKS SSQV. Its not really a big deal for me, but its an idea I would like to see discussed. Personally I finally got to install the XEDE on my new stock evo, after having it sit in my house for a good 1 1/2 months. My last evolution didn't make it due to crazed minivan zombie. So far I have the SubZero installed and find its improvement great over stock. It makes the car feel complete as a whole. So far no issues of any kind, *knock on wood*.

One thing I enjoy is that the custom mapping program is free, so I can edit the maps which further more justifys my purchase, although not a huge issue but I would like to see this program cleaned a little bit and probably pushed out of Beta2 into a final version.

With the flow rates that the factory turbo is capable of supporting, there is virtually no restriction with the factory airbox. So upgrading to another intake, few of which are cold air ducted, should yield no improvement. I've run off of MAP on our shop car and have yet to see a discerable improvement over the standard MAF deal. About the only thing we could do extra with MAP basing the system was to vent the BOV to atmos and not cause stumbles/misfires. But once again, I see no improvement with upgrading the BOV. In fact, the forge unit (recirculating) I stuck into our shop car causes compressor surge with every spring combo I've tried it with.

I have a Forge also, and I am having some problems with it as well. I have huge flutter/surge no matter what I do to the darn thing. I have it installed backwards, and it seem to be working better... some on something needs to be fixed here. Thinking about going back to stock, unless there is a perfect solution. I also want to send it back and get a refund. Not sure if thats going to happen.

haha ya, you got me.
. i was just curious to discuss about it. i know no true gains are seen from it. only reason i was wacked out on the design of the interface is because i am new the custom map programs, and my interactive design side came out when i opened it on 800x600 resolution. ill keep my game where it belongs, defintely not in car programs :-p

It doesnt make sense to me. I guess if the tuner takes this into account with there own pre programed ECM points it really isnt worth mentioning as its probably fine.
ya i gotcha... no worries i didn't take it as a burn. ya i didn't like the intake on the evo when i got it, i felt cheated in some odd way, and it wasn't worth it. of course my new car i am keeping the stock system, my questions are that in the future will the stock bov be able to hold the boost or will it have to be upgraded to anothe reciculating system later... 2nd is it worth it to buy a drop in filter or is that useless and mp5 what are you running on your car.. modifications. and your name should be mp5sd5

I have a Vishnu stage 1 with a 2.5" turboback (that will be replaced soon with a 3" its costing me ~ 15HP
) I havent had good luck with the reusable oil based drop ins in the past it gooked my MAf on my wrx multiple times and just wasnt worth it. I personally saw a WRX on the dyno make a pull with a K&N the owner quickly switched out to a cheap fram paper filter and instantly gained 5 HP. No crap about it it happened nothing was changed except the car getting more heat soaked from the previous pull. There was a very smart tuner sitting in the car that only smiled in an I told you so manner
. We arent going to overdrive the factory DV with the stock turbo the stage 1 all but does that now- though I do have a lust for the BR upper IC pipe / with 1stG DV
but its just to free up underhood space and cut down on IC piping not really for the effects of a metal vs plastic DV
