Awesome.... I'm looking forward to mapping all those Stage 1+ cars. With 7 cars to custom tune, it should be pretty easy to develope a good baseline map for our mail order customers.

We'll also have some info on XFlash next week that should make more than a few people happy. Looks like we got the multi-map/map switching/user-tuning features to work the way we wanted it to

Hope that the date is not earlier than the end of January to allow for cam delivery and installation.

 

I'm waiting to hear from Altered Atmos; however, it's slated for 1/31/04.

 

Just wanted to clarify that I am planning to have the entire Stage 1+ setup in time for this event... XEDE, exhaust, cams and cam gears.

Will Vishnu have a baseline tune for the Stage 1+ (with 264/272 cams, cam gears at 0/0) prior to the tuning day? Does anyone know if the Stage 1 baseline maps will be "close enough" to run with the 264/272 cams installed? For these purposes, "close enough" means usable as a daily driver, not WOT at high revs...

 

Do you already have the XEDE unit etc...? I guess I bunched you in with people currently without the XEDE unit

As far as the 1+ maps, Brett (Vishnu) told me that Shiv will have some opportunities to develop 1+ maps this month as well as next month. Yeah, I think we'll be part of the acid tests, but I'm up for it!

I'll be going to Altered tomorrow and will try and get some more details on the event, dates, fees, etc. I should have more info on Friday or Thrusday night.

jfh, if you're still searching for HKS cams and haven't ordered any through Vishnu, Evo Motorsports informed me that they will be getting a few 264/272 cams in stock between Friday and Monday. They don't do pre-orders, but you can check the site to see if the inventory is listed.

HKS USA need to get on the ball with those suckers!

I talked to Altered Atmosphere and they said they will rent out the dyno to us on January 31st in order for Shiv to come in and tune vehicles at their facility. The shop should be open from 9AM to 6PM.

We've set the max dyno tunes to 10 in order to make sure there is enough time to get everyone in. This means that we will split the price of renting the dyno into 10.

Once I have confirmed pricing with Altered, I will post the amount we each owe to receive a spot. I will collect the money to make sure we account for everyone at the event. That should hopefully eliminate any errors that could occur if we each send payment to Altered.

I believe the pricing for Shiv to tune will work much like they are doing for Colorado. I will confirm that with them tomorrow and post the final list, event location, dyno info, and pricing.

Note: Stage 1+ tunes, please make sure and secure the cams and have them installed before the day of the event to prevent any issues.

I just spoke w/ mr. meanmud and i guess all we have to do now is coax the SHIVINATOR to the east coast. look for a post by meanmud soon about xflash/xede voodoo wumpus.
i am supposed to receive my cams thursday, as a bunch of us are, and have plenty of time to get them in.

Sounds great. Have we confirmed that Shiv will be coming? I thought we had to get 4 confirmed people to purchase Xede's for him to come out. If we are all confirmed let me know, I've been waiting on ordering some parts (ie. downpipe, cam gears) from Vishnu until we were definetly all set. If we fell short of Xede orders I was hoping to have the money from my upgrades added into the pot. I don't think I'm going to be able to get my new cams in time, so please list me with the Stage 1 group. Thanks

I'll definitely be swinging by to check out the next stage. Maybe we can get some tips on XEDE tuning, now that we've all had them for 3 or 4 months. I know I'm having idling problems with the colder weather (with stock BOV), if anyone has some tips on where to start adjusting the custom map, let me know

Spoke to Ken @ Vishnu, he said that if any of the XEDE owners want to add the X-Flash, that will take care of new purchase quotas. I am probably going to do it.

A side note, for those who are doing the stage 1, you may want to seriously pursue the cams for 1+ - (my two cents).

KK and myself are working out the details and will continue to post updates - it is most definitely looking good!

Lacoste - you may want to check out the post on idling issues.
