E-Coast stg 1+ dyno-day?
Well, right now we're in the process of contacting the original posters who wanted to participate. If we don't hear back from a few in a little bit, we can start adding people in.
Unfortunately, we only have the dyno for Saturday and have limited the slots to 10 (1 per hour) to make sure we have ample time. We might be able to sqeeze 2 more in, but I think that would be a max.
If there was massive interest, we could talk to Altered about a second day, but I don't think they typically do that kind of thing.

Please keep me updated if you free up any additional room.
ken, shiv, brett - any chance shiv could bring some vishnu stickers and key chain thingies to the altered tuning festivus? us loyal customers wouldn't mind advertising i'm sure.

In Colorado, we found best results at -2 and -2 deg (retarded). At sea level (on our big boost Stage 2 car), we found best results at -3 and -3. So anywhere around there should be good for starters. The rest can be tweaked on the dyno.

Thanks for the update. I guess that we can begin the installations now. Do you have Stage 1 + cam maps that we can use until our Jan 31 tuning session?

Yes, I have Stage 1+ maps that I have tested on my car at sea level as well as the cars here at 6000'. The only significant difference is that of boost mapping. The high altitude cars required more duty cycle in the boost tables as well as another restrictor fitting in their boost lines. I won't consider the map complete until I test the cars at AA next month so I still think the Stage 1+ baseline map i provided before (which has circulated among just about everyone, i think) is the safe bet for now. Having been tested only on cars which run 91 octane, I'm sure it's horrifically detuned. But certainly safe and sound for the time being. Just set your cam timing to -2 and -2 and we'll tune from there on the dyno.
Another idea I had was to do race gas maps for those who are interested in having a pump gas/race gas toggle switch installed. This would add a little time to the process but I think it would be fun. The cars would have to come in with 1/4 tank of pump gas in tank. Once tuned, we could add a few gallons of 105 oct, bring average octane up to 100oct and work on the secondary map. Should be good for big gains
I tried getting in touch with the guys at AA last week, btw. The person I had to speak to wasn't around. I'll try them again when i get back to CA on Wednesday.
Cheers,

Just a question I have on cam timing, which I'll ask here, since many of us have installed or will install cams + XEDE.
I'm not sure I understand the purpose of the adjustable cam gears if both cam gears are set to the same number of degrees. Unless I'm mistaken, the only other two engine events which are synchronized with the cams are the spark and the firing of the injectors. Can't the XEDE already move these events by 2-3 degrees through manipulation of the CAS (Crank Angle Sensor) signal?
I definitely understand that shifting timing of the intake cams relative to the timing of the exhaust cams would require a mechanical solution, but can't everything else be timed electronically?
Let me know...
