Just went to Jim Felts Mitsu in Sycamore, Ill to have my CEL diagnosed. It was the same "random misfire-PO300" that happened to my car ealier. After changing BACK to Mitsu OEM plugs/gap from the Vishnu recommened plugs the CEL came back on few miles down the road, after pulling into a drive thru lane at idle. Went back to the dealer and they called the Mitsu tech line. The end result of this visit is that Mitsu is in fact working on an ECU reflash to be released sometime in the future. They are "gathering data" before they send out a final reflash. No word on when this will be released, but it is definately a problem they are aware of.
So I guess, as of now we all just have to be patient or get a flash from one of the vendors out there and further void our warranties.
Just one more reason I will never buy another Mitsu product. I like the EVO but their quality control is really crap IMO.

try using higher octane fuel (or mix with race gas). it solved my problem. i run my evo at a track and used to get p0300 after only about 5 mins of hard driving. now, before i head to the track, i fill it up with 102 oct race gas and have no problems.
Vishnu gangs,
My car started to throw a P0300 code after 1500 miles... the only mod was a ground wire kit, which I don't think will attribute to this error code.
My question is, if Mitsu really came out with a reflash to fix this problem, will your X-Flash overwrite what the factory did with a new software?

If Mitsu comes out with a reflash, there is a chance that it will overwrite any aftermarket reflash, our XFlash included. If this happens, just tell us and we'll reflash your performance related tables back to what it was before. You will still have the factory updates/PO300 fix.

My car has been throwing this code for the past couple of months. I can feel the car missing at partial throttle cruise - 34-3500RPM @ 75mph. New plugs didn't help. Runs fine at full throttle, but misses intermittantly at cruise.
i have had my car for 17000 miles, and have never had that cel come on until i drove up to the bay area (5 hours straight at about 100mph). Any recollection as to the context in which your CEL came on?
mine has only come on after letting the car sit at least overnight and then immediately getting on the interstate and driving for 15-20 min then it comes on. Doesn't happen all the time, maybe once a month.
