It will go off again after driving it for a few hours. I haven't had it in over a month now. Seems to be completely random.

If you've received the dealer reflash, and you still get the P0300....you will just basically have to deal with it...according to most tuners and Mitsu reps.
some options, though, you may try include:

1) getting a stand-alone (if its's ECU-related),
2) replacing/rebuilding your tranny, or even the whole driveline (if you believe in that "harmonic distortion" theory), and
3) for some, removing your piggy-back will make that P0300 error disappear.

I've tried the latter for a couple of days, and it worked for me. Had to put it back though...couldn't stand how the car would run without it...

Anybody have any luck with that error otherwise?

You guys need to post another option for the vote:

o I don't get the P0300, but I've gotten other CELs

I haven't gotten the P0300 yet, but I'm still getting the P0420 (though that should go away once I install the Vishnu "fix"). I've also gotten a throttle position CEL when my intake hose blew off the TB...

only way to make it disappear is to reset the code. But it may keep popping up if you keep getting the misfire. Best thing to do would be to either get a OBDII Scan tool to keep deleting it or take the car back to Mitsu and let them know you're experiencing the P0300 problem. I highly doubt if they will be able to fix anything as it seems like the reflash didn't do jack, but at least you can have your problem documented by the dealer...good luck

Btw if you're modded, be careful about going to the dealership as they'll just blame it on the mods.

What about another option - changing spark plugs? I've read about a few people that have done this with some success. Not sure if they went colder??

I tried the plugs and it fixed it for a few days.... I just drive with the light on 100% of the time... I wish there was a solid fix for this.

The code doesn't bother me much - it's the vibrating that bothers me. I wanna somehow fix that! I can live with the stupid light on if nothing is detremental.

Lightbulb *update*

The dealership has a solution. They figured out what the problem was. It is my intake... doesn't that make since to you. Let's see I have had the aem intake for about 5 months, but somehow over the last month it decide to make my car start to misfire. Naturally I told them they were full of it and I was going to put my stok intake back on and as soon as the light came back on I would be back...notice not if, but when it comes back on. How stupid are the tech at Mitsu?

Gapping the plugs a lil tighter might help a lil. Worked for me. Funny when I had the Misfires that were noticable I never got this stupid code. Try the Gapping trick it might work.

No its definately noise pickup my car was one of the worst wed seen. Would go on after 5 min of idle all the time, threw in the MR 6MT and not one in 5K miles. The car that has my 5MT weirdly started throwing the code instantly

Interesting...Have you taken your 5spd Tranny apart to see if you could figure out what the problem is? I know there was a drive shaft or sth that twisted on the One Lap car, but what about your car?

Do you think rebuilding the tranny by either Shep or TRE would solve the problem?

yep, this worked for me too....or basically, it lessened the stumble I'd normally get cruisin around 80 @5th gear.
*FYI, the plugs giving me some relief right now are plain NGK BPR8ESs, gapped at .025. Previously, I had Iridium BPR7EIXs (ungapped).

You think it will it help if I get an aftermarket ignition? Also, if the SES light is on, won't the ECU pull timing causing the car to lose hp?
