Tuning question for Shiv on Xflash vs. Dynoflash: No Tuning WAR! looking for advice

Just curious as to why you don't have a 92 octane map, and would it make a difference in performance because this is what I have up here in Seattle. Also, Shiv, if you could tell me the difference between DynoFlash vs. Yours (no tuning wars please), I would like to know the differences since I am being swayed either way, mainly the price (Dyno Flash), and what other charges would apply to yours (Xflash). I.E. for another reflash from Al it is $100...what can we expect if we go with your Xflash? What else is coming out for Xflashers early next year, and prices please? Thank you very much for your time!

I will let shiv provide the answers to most of it but from being in the game a long time I will give my 2cent. You can skimp on lotsa things but never never never let price sway you from the absolute most important thing in a car the ECM tuning. Never discount years of experience from a startup that has to "buy" your confidence through the pricepoint of their product. Please heed this its too important go with who you trust most if your pocketbook and the here and now has a more direct route to your ear then so be it.

MP5, I hear what you are saying. I know price shouldn't be a motivator here, but from what I have read both tuners seem to know their s*** very well. I know Shiv has been a tuner alot longer than Al, but for 10-15whp gain for less does seem motivating to me. I know it shouldn't be that way, and trust me, I have done a lot of research on the tuners out there and it pretty much comes down to who you trust the most, who has great customer service, and price does come into account somewhat for the consumer. I know shiv obtains the most from "his" products, because he and others, may think they are the best. But what if I went a different route with and exhaust system? If anyone else can shead some light on this, please do.

Also, Shiv, if you can answer any of my questions in the first post, that would be great. Thanks again on the replies!

That is exactly what I was thinking before Al made a statement in a recent post that basically scared me off. The just of it was: "I just increase the blocks value, it does not matter what I increase it to, I just max it out". Maybe he meant something else, but the damage to me already has been done.

From my personal limited tuning experience and knowledge, it sure matters what you increase the value to in indivdual blocks.

Updated: Al contacted me and clarified that he was refering to the boost tapering block only when he made that comment, not to all the blocks he changes which is what I thought.

I can't believe I'm competing against big Al

Am I in the twilight zone?

exactly- I find it ironic that your loyal customer base is able to thwart most Al attacks after all he was one of us last month

well Shiv, then throw Al out of the question. Can you elaborate than why there is no 92 octane map for your reflash? I am just curious, the only reason being is because that is all i have here in Seattle. Also, besides the sale before christmas cost, what other costs will there be for the Xflash...I.E. obtain an exhaust in the future, will it cost the same for the reflash again?? Please elaborate for me, Thank you very much for your time! Hope to hear soon...I plan on doing something withing the next 2 days.

From my last tuning trip in Seattle, I didn't find the 92oct to be noticeably better than our CA 91. Frankly, I wouldn't be surprised if it was the same fuel-- just labelled differently. The difference between them and the 93/94 everyone else in the US gets, on the other hand, is absurd as far as actual octane/resistance to detonation goes.
