idle probs w/ xede?
idle probs w/ xede?
Anybody else seem to have idle probs? Once the engine warms up it idles at about 900 rpm and then every few seconds the rpm drop to under 500. Usually the ECU recognizes the prob & the rpm jump to around 1200 to recover but once they get back down to 900 the problem recurs. Sometimes the engine stalls. I haven't been able to get a hold of Team Vishnu yet (Shiv/Ken/Brett). Anybody got any ideas?
Perhaps a firmware update...

ok if you just blip the throttle a touch, does the XEDE click a lot? then you might have the wrong wire..
dont ask me how i know this
tom
It has occured to me that checking the wires should be the first step on my list of things to check, but I triple checked all the wires when I hooked up the Xede. However, I have been known to, occasionally, goof.
Thanks for the input, all.

On a side note, I used to live in Eugene (Springfield and Creswell as well). Will you be coming up for the Vishnu dyno day here in Portland?

So I reviewed the wiring instructions w/ Shiv's new version 1.2 and thought maybe somehow I transposed the Xede boost wire with the Xede relay wire (on mine they're both dark blue). I put in a male/female connector for these two wires a few weeks back so I just switched 'em. Idle problem went away but then on heavy throttle no Xede clicking sound and max boost of 14 psi, the CEL came on. Pulled over switched 'em back and boom, boost back over 20 PLUS no idle problem. My conclusion: loose connection in the wiring i put in. I hope the problem is gone for good. All I can say is...duh! I shoulda checked it immediately. Thanks to all for your help. Now I just gotta reprogram my Xede to get my boost pressures down to a safe level.
Bigd - I had been wondering if Shiv had any plans to visit Portland anytime soon but forget to ask every time I talk to them. I am VERY interested. When? Where? How do I get hooked in?
