Stage package interchangeability

Shiv,
For your stage packages, what do they all share together. Eventually i'd like to wind up with stage 2, but would like to get there progressively. I don't want to buy parts that will only be not used in a later stage. All I can think of now is that they all use the same following: 1) xede 2) fuel pump 3) cam gears 4) cams. Is that it?
Also what is your take on the cam situation? What are the pros/cons to running 264/264, or 264/272, or 272/272? Your currently running the 272/272 setup right?
Thanks again for the info! Keep up the good work!
John
PS Hows the intake coming?

Hey Johnny through stage 1+ all parts build upon each other. IIRC the downpipe does not need redoing so in essece all parts should built upon each other through stage2. BTW stage 2 is for sick depraved people! Stage 1+ works very well for me.

the staggard setup really maximizes the stock turbos effeciency. IMHO 264s arent worth the effort and expense. 272s might be in the future and I would run them with a bigger turbo.

I always tell people that really in truly stage 1+ is sick- It makes for a very fast car and I wouldnt be supprised to see very low 12s maybe a high 11 soon

John MAC!!

Ever part of stage 1+ will be used in stage II. I do know the down pipe will be diffrent.

272/264 looks like the winning combo but if your looking to do the stage II (witch you might not be after driving a Stage 1+ car with over 340whp DYNOJET) then 272/272 would make better sence.

We should meet up soon. I want to give a quick ride with my new mods.

Eric

Eric what are some of your new mods? , since last time all you had was the Xede and a catback from Vinshu.
Also wont the 272/272 combo (for idle issues ) would be better ran on EMS , since a friend of mine has that set up and it iddles stock or near stock.
Can the Xede with the Flash do that ??
An went upgrading to the 264/272 staggard cam combo . do you need to upgrade to ARP head studs ???

I changed my Exhuast and now have a full 3in turbo back with highflow cat. I have cams just waiting for a 93oct base map for Xede. 272/264 combo BTW.

Shiv can make the car idle with X-flash perfectly. I will be using the combo xflash and xede. Do you need to upgrade to ARP head studs? well that's not a bad idea and also you should upgrade the fuel pump when doing cams IMHO.

I don't know about 'perfectly' but certainly 'better than expected'

The term perfectly conjures up the notion of being unable to tell a cam'd car from a stock car. While most folks wouldn't be able to distinguish between them, I think some people will notice the difference (although slight, of course).

Cheers,
shiv

Ok how about this.

Shiv can get them to idle just about perfectly.

You know me, there's no such thing as enough power. Stage 2 should fit the bill for a daily street driver! Definitely will be meeting up when the weather breaks, I'm really impressed with this car! I wish I never wasted my time with the WRX, but then I wouldnt have met you, or shiv, and, whatever!
Talk to ya soon,
John
PS Eric STILL doesnt have his MR2 running yet
