Torque is phat, and the EVO pulls hard.

My car is stock and made a best pull of 219.5hp with the X-flash, running crappy Shell gas (includes MTBE).

I filled up with 76 yesterday and the car feels even smoother.

For the money you can't beat the flash... 22whp on Shiv's dyno is a bargain.

Thumbs up and thanks again Shiv!

Is your Evo custom tuned?

Yes, the xflash is very impressive from all that I've seen...is gas @ unocal in Cali better or somethin? How come I hear everyone getting it @ unocal instead of the more popular stations like mobil or cheveron....strange. And mp5, yeah it sux here but we gotta live with it =X

Nope, his car is using the same baseline map as everyone else. No tuning. Just dyno verification

So the only benefits if you have an Xede already is slightly higher boost between 4-5k with out fuel cut and higher Rpm and speed limit removal? What if you already have another type of re-flash is there any benefits to getting an Xede or your flash instead over the others?

My question above has still not been discussed Shiv can you please let me know. Also it seems like the question about the Boost line with Xflash also has not been answered.

I called to find out, they offer a replacement hose to achieve higher boost.

The XEDEFlash and the XFlash are two different things. The Xflash is used as a substitute for the XEDE. It revises boost, fuel, spark advance, rev limits, boost limits, etc,.

The XEDEFlash is for use with the XEDE. Since the XEDE is already handling fuel, spark, and boost duties, the XEDEFlash simply takes care of the things that the XEDE cannot such as rev limits, boost limits and speed limits. This has benefits since we no longer have to tip-toe around the factory boost cut. It can also be used to make idle quality adjustment for cars with cams.

Back to the XFLash: it comes with a new boost line that will need to be installed if desired boost is to be acheived.

Cheers

This is probably a stupid question, but I gotta ask. Has anyone yet combined like the WORKS P1/P2 reflash with the Xede?? Would that be at least theoretically possible, or just somewhat of overkill??

From what I read about the Xflash - it seems to be more of the permanent remap that the P1/P2 is, so I'm thinking they couldn't be combined.

Searching for upgrades, thanks!

There is no problem with adding an XEDE on top of any ECU flash. All the advantages of the XEDE are still applicable.

As for the XFlash, consider it (dare I say) a more refined and complete version of the other current ECU reflashes on the market. It would basically write on top of your current reflash, replacing it completely.

Thanks for the quick response Shiv. Didn't mean to hijack the thread or anything.

Have you tested any other flashes combined with the Xede?? works, dynoflash, whatever? Safe?

Yep, I have. The only problem with using an XEDE on top of them is that you cannot rely on the baseline maps since you are now tuning "on top" of something that isn't stock. If you're custom tuning it, this is a moot point, of course
