Another Dyno Tale

Stage 1 (turbo-back with optional test pipe, XEDE and cam gears)
91 and 100 octane (well, more like 97-98 since there was still some pump gas in the tank when we added the good juice)

** When the car wasn't heatsoaked (you guys know how I like to tune ), it made 300whp on two consecutive pulls

whp and torque

So how much WHP is the test pipe worth on the stage 1+? Also you need to max that bad boy out, no cat c16 and 25-26PSI of boost. I bet you can get 340ish on your dyno

I bet not I'm sure with c16, we could make more midrange torque and a bit more top end. But the turbo is at max capacity up top and I don't see yanking out another 50whp. 10-20whp maybe but that's about it.

FWIW, in this application the test pipe seems to be worth at least 15whp, all other things equal.

Cheers,
Shiv

15WHP is pretty good, is that when you pull out your high flow cat? Also Shiv that is a KILLER power curve. One other quick thing. When I go from my 91 stage 1+ map to the tuned 93 stage1+ map do you think there will be a big power difference?

That's why I was asking about the 1+ map I think it will be VERY close to 300whp once he is done...

This ones at 300 without cams and mystery meat gas. What shiv is an accurate 93 octand DD map? Are we going to see the 30+ AWHP more than stage 1s? Also Im drilling out my cat then can we get rid of 0420s??

For reference, this is mine with a stage one signature WITH CAT. I was running very closely the same 97/98 octane as Bonnies because when I mixed in my 104, I still had too much 91 left in the tank. The 91 octane numbers are listed also. On the 91, I made 253hp. As you can see, I made almost 276 hp with the CAT: Even though it is two different cars, it seems Shiv is right when he says it make 15 additional horsepower. Now, my question: BEFORE I DROP THE HUNDRED + BUCKS FOR THE TEST PIPE, WILL I GET THOSE 15 HP BY JUST BOLTING IT ON OR WILL I NEED TO PLAY WITH THE XMAP/XEDE TO GET THE MOST OUT OF IT?

I am extremely interested in Shivs input. I am leaning technically that cats blow really bad and want to lean on him to offer 0420 fixes for states that dont give a damn (TX and other 3rd world states)

WTF? They could have moved it to "drag racing" or something.

Exposing my ignorance here, but what aspect of tuning (A/F, ignition timing, boost, etc) does a freeer flowing exhuast allow for?

Could you do just a cat vs. test pipe compare on 91 octane? I am about to by a car sound cat, but If I am goiong to give up 15 whp!!! Maybe the $300 cat made by a company that I cant remember @ the moment might not be a bad option.
