Red dot is zero degrees on the Vishnu gears. Don't line up the gears with the 0 degree mark. They're one tooth off due to the difference between the Evo and DSM gears. If your Stage 1, -5 is the correct setting. I'm running -3 with Stage 1+. Just set your degree on the gears, install both gears with red marks lined up with valve cover marks.

They are off by one whole tooth on the cam gears?!? What is the exact zero point (in degrees) for our EVOs?

Thanks.

No!!!

Degree them to exactly where you want them. If you want them at -3. set them at -3. There are marks on the valve cover under the timing belt cover and the red dots on the cam gears are where to align them.

Repeat: If you want -5, set to -5. -3, set to -3. -2, set to -2. If you set it to +4, you'll be way off for the map and possibly put the engine in danger.

Here is a good photo of what your gears should look like when set at -2. Use this for reference. They are installed correctly.

Use the dots to get to TDC!!! Use the marks (-2, -3, etc) for timing adjustments!!!

well from my understanding one tooth is 7.5 degrees so moving them to +4 would make them -3. this is an option without taking them out and realigning them at tdc. just looking for an easy option here.

Yep... I got it. Could you pm me your XEDE's serial number? It's written on the XEDE case.

Cheers,
shiv
