Red dot is zero degrees on the Vishnu gears. Don't line up the gears with the 0 degree mark. They're one tooth off due to the difference between the Evo and DSM gears. If your Stage 1, -5 is the correct setting. I'm running -3 with Stage 1+. Just set your degree on the gears, install both gears with red marks lined up with valve cover marks.
i have not driven my car since the 16th and am adjusting gears now but want to know if they were installed with the 0 degree slash up that means they are @-10 degrees so i need to move them to +4 degrees to get them @-3, right???
thanks guys
thanks guys

Degree them to exactly where you want them. If you want them at -3. set them at -3. There are marks on the valve cover under the timing belt cover and the red dots on the cam gears are where to align them.
Repeat: If you want -5, set to -5. -3, set to -3. -2, set to -2. If you set it to +4, you'll be way off for the map and possibly put the engine in danger.
well from my understanding one tooth is 7.5 degrees so moving them to +4 would make them -3. this is an option without taking them out and realigning them at tdc. just looking for an easy option here.
