There is a excel file on Shiv's site entitled "How big is your horsepower" or something of that sort that allows you to plug in numbers and see how different dynos would typically read out.

Seth
Actually Seth our Dyno is proving to read almost right on 17% lower than a Dynojet...I am not sure but I am sure Vishnus dyno is really close to ours....so I think 20% is a bit over IMHO

Straight from a Dyno Dynamics owner who has tested the results. 17% it is.

Yep, both our DD dynos should read alike. This means that, on 93 oct, Stg 0s should put down around 240-245whp. Stage 1s should do around 250-260whp. Stage 1+s around 270-280. On 100 oct, add another 20whp or so. Well, that's my prediction at least

It is also interesting to note that Dynojets can read very differently from each other. I've seen as much as 20whp difference between difference AWD Dynojets. At Pruven, Stage 1s were making 315-320whp. At Altered Atmos, the same car/set-ups were doing less than 300whp. Not sure if this is based upon differences in software or actual hardware variances. So I guess the correction factor betwen DD dynos and Dynojets may vary between 12% and 17%, depending on what Dynojet we are comparing it to. But really, who wants to compare their numbers to a Dynojet?

Those who haven't used a DD dyno before will be in for a pleasant surprise when it comes to tuning and set-up. It's really in a class by itself. And after seeing pics of Dyno4formance's shop, I think we are going to have on helluva weekend.

See y'all in May!

Shiv

As was brought up before by myself and hanstercat...will shiv be updating our Xedes with the new firmware? Or do we have to send them in to Vishnu beforehand (makes little sense and costs us shipping)?

Dyno4mance, you can change my tune to XedeFlash tune on 93/100 octane. Stage 1 right now, should have cams before the dyno day though...

Sounds good, now what do we need to do to get the xede flashes and the upgraded firmware?

Cams are on order. The race begins, hopefully they'll make it in before the dyno day. No answers on the phone from Vishnu.

On another note, inferencing from other posts, it seems during the NJ and Portland Dyno days that all Xede's were updated to the newest firmware version that solves the cold idle and misfire codes by bypassing the MAF at low loads. Good news. Shiv is at this very moment trying to perfect the launch control feature of the new firmware (which was not installed in the previous dyno days). Even better news.

With any luck this means we might-could (southern talk) get launch control too. I think updating Xedes with the new firmware is pretty much a foregone conclusion, but I will still ask anyway...
As for those wondering if they will be performing XFlash on site I would lean in the same direction (afterall, they are tuning them) but I'll be nice and ask about that too. IF anyone answers the phone.

Noize, you've been to a couple of these, you should be able to answer some of these questions. Oh, and I guess Boost Solutions is planning on also getting their AWD DD Dyno up and running by then. Imagine that, two of em' only about an hour apart.

I'm compiling a lot of data to post, but am waiting for the official word from Shiv on a couple of things before I do anything.

He just got back in the shop after like three straight weeks of dyno days, so he certainly deserves a breather. As soon as I have the complete information, I will post it for ya, bro!

Missed part of your post, Dude. Shiv will definitely be able to perform Xflash/XEDEflash upgrades on site. He will bring the necessary equipment to do this.

Stay tuned to find out the answer to the firmware update question as well as scheduling, pricing, and hotel information. There are still a few details that require approval from Shiv and Andrew.

Thanks so much for everyone's continued patience. This event is going to be truly awesome!

Hey shiv, do I need to do anything in advance so that you will bring a XEDE unit for me? I was planning on paying for it the day of the event. Let me know if you need any info from me.

Thanks!
