One Lap of America: Post and Discuss Results Here
Day two sounds better! Just checked but no official results yet.. Still only have results for the wet skid pad.
A quice Q about the cusco diff. is it only for drag racing or something? Forgive me if it sounds like a dumb question, but why would it make turning / grip in the rain worse??
Thanks and good luck and safe travels to all going or driving!

The advantage to clutch type difs is that they are "tuneable" the disadvantage is that this tuning is hard to do and requires lots of testing...special tools friction modifiers special clutch packs extra shim packs etc. I'll bet stock they locked up early (as they should) and a car with a locked axle goes straight even though the wheel angle tries to force it around the circle...prob the best they could have done is loaded them with the straight BG limited slip friction modifier turning the dif's into open dif's (the stuff is way slippery) done the skid pad and dropped the oil loaded new and changed that two after a few hundred miles. Ah hindsight perfect every time.
indeed! not a bad suggestion.
Come on down everyone, if you are within driving range of PPIR we want you their! All are welcome plenty of time for hanging out between the 8:30 and 12:30 sessions and remember we will be at Sears Point Monday, Vegas Tuesday, Pueblo Wednesday, Hallett Thursday, Road America Friday and finally Back to the Tire Rack (for DRY skidpad). All tracks are free AFAIK. Thanks, Paul

hi guys.... this is shiv... logging in from pauls nifty wireless internet phone
Today went great as most already now know. I don't think the bigdogs know what hit them. The first race in the morning was a smackdown of massive proportion. After fridays wet skidpad test we turned up the wick when it came to tuning. We are running a bit more aggressive than Id like but we don't much of a choice I we want a good overall win. Still, the car is performing awesomely and Paul is laying down the smack. The car seems to be a favorite since it is the only car that spends as much time sideways with all four tires lit up than it does pointing straight all hooked up. Either the car has a hundred more hp than I thought it goes or the 600hp 996 turbos and factory PVO vipers don't make the power we expected
Tomorrow is going to be a tough track and commute day with a 1300 mile trek to CA!
Anyone in the pikes peak area must come by tommorrow and hang.
hope to see you guys!

robi thanks for the info, was thinking a mechanical diff of some sort.
Kudos on the results! Don't blow it up as it is more an endurance event right. 1300 miles overnight after racing all day only to do it again when you get to CA. Be safe and better you guys than me.

I don't mean to steal anyone's thunder, but "Team Vishnu" finished 4th in the first race at Pike's Peak. Shiv told Lambtron that the Evo's shape doesn't create enough downforce. A Viper and 996tt beat them as well as one other car. The car is holding together fine. I don't know how that WRX is doing, but this should be enough to put them ahead of it in the mid priced sedan category, right?
Probably should have outfitted the Evo with front splitters and huge wing like the Puma, HKS, and other Evos that see alot of track duty to compete well and stay on top. Nevertheless, Paul is doing great considering the company he's up against.
