Uscc?

Just wondering if Vishnu planned to field a car to participate in Sport Compact Car Magazine Ultimate Street Car Challenge? After the performance you guys had at One Lap of America, I figure you guys would be a shoe in to win. I know I would definitly vote for you to participate, and I know a lot of others would? I'm asking this, because it is getting close to the time when they start asking for participants. So just wondering?

Yep.. we tried to get in as a alternate which would have happened if there wasn't some 'resistance' to us entering

And yep, after hearing the results, I think the One Lap car would have done well assuming no mechanical failures.

Come on Shiv, couldn't get one of your old SCC buddies to hook you up? Too bad, I would not had 'resisted' your entrance. Oh well, SCC is still the best magazine out there. Too many rice mags and not enough SCC types that really get into the technical aspects of the vehicles.

From Iraq...

Wait until the issue hits stands, the winning road course time was all that on the typical 103 degree ultra windy Willow Springs day.

Yes, I hear John Mueller drove Robi's car to the fastest road course time. But even his driving prowess couldn't make up for the remaining tests from what i hear. I really did expect the EVOs to lead the pack given what i've seen during the last few years. I was sad to hear them come in mid-pack. But maybe next year...

USCC may be a fun read, but it's silly IMHO - too much emphasis on bling and not enough on zing. One Lap is/was/will be a much better test, ditto for any road racing series, and the C&D Super Tuner Challenge will also be interesting to see.

Sparco started having ignition issues (about the only thing still stock on that MAD EVO!) and 2nd through 5th were seperated by 25 points after we each earned almost 1,000 points. My EVO gave up the most points in the show car segment(I think it had to do with racing the car or something) . I think it's most telling that I did extremly well in drivability/Grandma/Technical Merit/AND roadcourse...Love that linear Buschur Power and RRE for their Suspension setup. I was also using a "E-mail map" for the AEM as or Prep time went to Zero after problems on out first Dyno Event. For those if/should-have/could-have crowd 15 more HP on the Dyno (when the mail in map produced 40 hp less on my car without tuning) would have placed Me second....it was that close folks!

I look forward to reading the SCC issue. Which month should I expect it?

I sure wish there were some competitions like this in the TX, LA, AK, OK area. The Texas Triathalon was nice for a few years. I think all the Supras, Vettes, Vipers and Cobras got tired of blowing up in 115'F air.

Usual lead time = 3 months +/- And the winner came from Texas this year...
