Stage 1 Question

I was driving my stage 1 for the first time(got my parts installed this afternoon) and about 1 hour into the drive I floor the car and while I was in second gear the car lurched, stop producing power, and then the check engine light went on. The car still runs fine except for a rough idle and the check engine light. What do you think happened and what can i do to solve the problem? Boost or timing retard for some reason, thats my guess.

Find out what the code is. Also try checking to see if you blow a hose off. There's one EGR hose under the throttle body that can blow off when you romp on the throttle and can produce the symtoms you describe. You probably won't be able to see it, but you can feel for it with your hand.

Or fuel cut. Check your boost pressures

Well, I tried to start my car today and it won't even idle it just turns on and then dies. I can some times get it into gear and then it drives fine but the start up is very bad. Now what? I am going to check the code and some other things

Pull that code And yep, use only XMAP. XUpdate has been removed from the website because it is now obsolete.

Every time i try to upload the stage 1 93 oct map the Xmap says Document1.xmd. Also when i try to start the car with the Xmap on it a warning comes up and it say that the two are not the same map. Lastly when i check the MAF with the little blue bars it doesn't show any activity on the blue bars.

Are you burning the maps to eprom after you upload them to the XEDE? Getting that OBD-II code, however, will tell the whole story.

It says that there is no error code and i don't know why. Also every time I try to up load and then start the car it says that the maps are not synchronized even when I selcet the upload buttom. Could I have a defective Xede?

Ok make sure you got the key to "ON" position <CTRL> U to upload and <CTRL> B to burn map to EEPROM before you turn the key to start

Tried that and about every other kind of combination of ways to get that map into the Xede. The shop I took my car to retarded my cams 5 deg. I thought that 5 deg. retarded was WAY too much but they said thats where they needed to be.

Drove my car today and every thing seemed to be fine, I did some 4th gear pulls and it felt great no holes in the power curve.... The car still stalls very ofter even when warmed up and some times I get fuel or boost cuts any suggestions?

Try dropping the boost numbers in the boost map. This will eliminate the boost cut. Did you get those codes pulled? I think that will reveal why your car stalls at times.
