fair enough, we still welcome your participation in our regular racing school events as well as our upcoming competive event.

 

They are a bit of a pain there. I think a true race track with a generous parking lot would be ideal. We can also set up skid pads down the straight if there is enough width and runoff. Who knows the Cali tracks well that can chime in on this?

 

Buttonwillow is pretty wide in some sections. And Willow Springs has a huge spidpad area with enough room for 3 or 4 skidpads. That's were most magazines do all the drifting shots and cover pics. I'll make some calls tomorrow....

Buttonwillow will be an excellent track for this. If the track isn't available on a particular day you can just rent the skid pad if you want to concentrate on just that and leave track work for another time. Personally from reading Chronohunters posts I think lots of time on the skidpad doing circles and 8's would be good.

 

if you got the $$$ (i'm willing to pay more), we could take one the last open days at Laguna Seca (what's this Mazda Raceway nonsense). They have a huge parking lot (use for cone courses). Especially if we are only taking a smaller group of people.

Could you run a session for track lappers? While the other sessions are open for "private" instruction? That way more could attend the event and the people who want more instruction can get what they need to. (I know i'm pretty tired after 4 or 5 20 minute sessions).

I'm not crazy about that Steve. Not for the schools. I want it to be very focused with no distractions for the participants. We can and will do track day events in the future.

 

buttonwillow is also fine w/ me, but Thunderhill would be my choice. I am trying to get better at thunderhill before I work on other tracks, and hoping that paul could give me some pointers. I would go with either one or sears pt. I think a few laps with paul at any track would be very benifical for me.

You don't know how good that makes me feel to see that. I've been to a few events as an observer which were supposed to be instructional and they ended up being free for alls. In the end I don't think anyone left with any new skill other than feeling good they got to go around a track.
