CMP is great too, and you can split the track into 2 nice useable tracks, but again, no skidpad, and a relatively long drive. They are a little more available than Roebling, but I believe their weekends are pretty booked too.

I promise I am not just trying to bash on all the other tracks. CMP is a really safe track too. It's just for teaching, TGP works great. It is likely one of the best tracks out there for first-timers. With a corner of almost every type, there is a lot to learn, and you can push really hard without fear of consequences.

Yes, TGP is available year-round. It's cheaper during the week, with M-Th cheapest, then Fri. Then the weekend...

 

I would bring the WRX to an event at Talladega. I don't think I would be able to travel farther than that.

 

That is another good thing about Tally, it's pretty central being in North Alabama.

I just spoke with CMP, they had a cancellation for Sept. 18th and 19th. If we had 20-24 guys we could do $315 each (they have a $15 per car vehicle fee). To split the track in half would be an additional $300. If we wanted to then go back to running the full track it would be another $300.

They are also available on December 18th and 19th, but that's getting pretty close to Christmas....

 

I wouldn't be able to make it till after October. My car is running like poo. I am booked for the Vishnu dyno day Oct. 2.

 

I would like to anytime. I am close to CMP and would like to get a track day with other Evo owners and the like. Just let me know.

I hate CMP. It's sandy, there aren't enough trees, it's hotter than hell, and oh yeah, the bugs are really angry. There's the one damn tree they don't cut down that people like to wrap their car around when they chicken out in the kink. Oh, but at least they like to steal your beer when you stay at the Executioner Inn.

On the bright side, we could join the kids that just go up and down the street in town. There's nothing else to do, really. An average of 6 passes seems to be the norm.
