Still need help with XEDE

Last night I was told that we used the wrong green wire which caused the idle hunting and SES light to come on, but at least the car ran. Today I plugged that wire back in and pulled the only other green wire (with a white stripe) to use. Now the car will turn over and catch for about 1rpm then die, even the turbo timer doesn't come on. Now what? Anyone out there know what we're doing wrong?

Thanks,
Sam

Hard to say for sure without seeing, but are you sure you guys got the right green wire? Most of the problems i've read is in installation and not with the Xede itself, so i'd start there and look over things.

p.s. I don't recall the boost wire having a white stripe on mine.

Sam,

You still have the wrong wire. When looking at the ecu in the car, you want the connector furthest to the right. Now, pull that connector, and look at the side opposite the white retainer clip. Pull the light green wire which is 3rd from the right. There is a red wire with a yellow stripe next to it. That is the right light green wire, it has no stripe.

Yeah, we got it. The instructions have two errors, one tells you to grab the plug furthest to the left, not right; the other tells you to use XUpdate to write the program to the XEDE. I put two and two together after my earlier post and found the correct wire, and the car runs like a top now. Thanks for the help. On Dialup here or I would have posted the results earlier.

We used the instructions that are posted on the Vishnu site in html and pdf format, they're the same. I finally thought it through and realized that there wouldn't be a need to modify the signal in a wire that was already being intercepted. We never removed all the plugs 'cuz we didn't think it necessary. My only excuse is jet lag and this damned heat and humidity here in Houston. Ugh. Thanks Vishnu guys for the responses, the car feels much better up top now.

So what does it mean when the XEDE is plug and play if additional wires need to be pulled? I am asking becuase I want to know what is involved with installation before ordering.

Know that your car will run better, but there will be an annoying clicking noise coming from the glove box on a regular basis.

It's plug and play in the sense that no wires need to be cut. There's no need to remove the single boost signal wire from the factory harness if you don't want the Xede to control boost.

EvoSam,

Vishnu started shipping Xedes earlier this month without the clicking. Read about it here. They could probably eliminate yours if it bothers you.

There is a non-clicky harness? Does it still have the relay in it, but just not as loud? Any chance Shiv can bring those to the Dyno day at Dyno4mance?
