Xede bank switching

Instructions are not clear...to switch banks, do I need a toogle switch to ground the wires all the time to use bank 1 or do I use a momentary switch (that returns to a open circuit) just to ground wires to switch banks ? TIA

The wires have to stay in contact. A momentary switch wont work. A toggle switch should do the trick.

I use a small on/off toggle switch that I bought from radioshack. I zip tied it to the ECU harness and it is protected by the ECU wiring harness cover.

Call me ghetto but I'm afraid of a switch. I don't want to switch it inadvertantly. I'll just keep the red in the glove box and the black right behind the glove box and put'em together when it's time to lay down a little smack.

In the event that the switch IS hit inadvertently, is there any fail safes built into the xede ? Or would it be catastrophic ?

Hitting the switch for 110 or C-16 running 93 octane per say.

Thats why i'm planning on using like 5 switches, all of which have to be turned on to activate the race map

Nice idea I think I'll do the same.

Still curious of the effects on the engine in an inadvertent map switch

well, from what i understand, the Xede still retains much of the factory ECU's safegaurds against situations like this, and i think the engine should be fine as long as its not running pump on a race gas map for an extended period of time. The ECU would, in theory, adjust and just cause the car to run like sh_t
