I recently purchased the Engine Runup alky/meth kit along with the Snow Performance safe injection. I know that meth has been proven to make slightly higher performance numbers, but I don't have easy access to meth. I can purchase alky from the PX (military store) for about $2.50/gallon. I know that in the longterm, purchasing alky at this price can get expensive. Any advice on how to be more cost-effective will be well welcomed. I boost to redline every chance that I get by the way. I know that once I get tuned with the kit, I need to stay with whatever product I choose. I've considered using windshield wiper fluid because of the meth content but I am uncertain of its compatibility with the kit. Which would be the preferred choice to use with this particular kit:

1. meth
2. alky
3. windshield wiper fluid
4. 50/50 combo of meth with water
5. 50/50 combo of alky with water

If meth is the overall best choice, where could I purchase it considering that I'm about 60 miles from Austin, Texas? If windshield wiper fluid, which brand is best?

I know that there are many kits out on the market but I've read through all five pages of the alcohol/water injection forum without any luck. I'm solely asking about the Engine Runup kit.

Hold on, did you say $2.50/gal for 100% denature alcohol then follow it up by saying you know that can get expensive? Good lord, that's cheaper than gas!!! Denatured alcohol is usually $12.77/gal (Home Depot), and the cheapest you can get Meth is around $3/gal. Good gracious, I hope you don't think $2.50/gal is expensive when you'll only have to use one gallon every 2 weeks or so. Hell, I have no issues with spending $12.77/gal for my daily driven Evo, and I also boost as often as possible.

I don't see how your choice of fluid would have anything to do with your specific kit, though. You should do 100% meth or 100% denatured alky for the best possible performance gains.

 

Maybe that was being a bit super cheap when you compare it with today's gas prices. But I wasn't doing that. I was comparing the different products that I could use and the which "one" of "those" would be more cost effective. Maybe you should start making some friends that's in the military because I know that we can get the alky for a lesser price than the $12.00 or so dollars you're paying at Home Depot. Go Army! By the way, I stand corrected. It's more like $3.00 for a 1/2 gallon tank. My fault about that bro. I like the car and I appreciate your advice. I get it. 100% with either or would be in my best interest.
