I have done quite a bit of research. I was very intriqued with the possibilties till I learned the problems that come with running the stuff. The biggest problem is I found is when nitromethane burns it leaves behind nitric acid. Nitric acid for those who dont know is very corrosive. I remember placing a penny in the stuff in chemistry class. It was fun watching the penny dissolve right before your eyes. If you use this stuff nitric acid will find its way everywhere. it will dissolve softer metals when it makes contact. How much goes into the oil I have no idea. But I do know that changing your oil like a madman should be a priority. especially since 20% of your oil stays unchanged during an oil change. I came across I guy that had a drag car that was running about 70%nitro/30meth. he made a commet on how he was changing his oil after every pass.
Personally I would recommend that if anyone wants to try this tuff to just buy the premixed bottles from snow. although my gut felling is it is 50/43/7 mix meth/water/nitro. That small 7% is good for 40-50 hp from what I read.

You can buy hole shot methaol which already hays nirtro mixed in and suspended correctly. They are tight lipped about how they do it. I t may be worth trying. There is not much info online about the results.

burning in oxygen rich environment:
4CH3NO2 + 3O2 → 4CO2 + 6H2O + 2N2

burning in O2 difficient environment:
4CH3NO2 → 4CO + 4H2O + 2H2 + 2N2

it does not generate HNO3...........aka aqua fortis

i ran a 5% nitro, 45% water, 50% meth mix for a couple weeks but it didn't last long on a stock block when it was also being used with a 100 shot

Some useful information, relavant to the effect of heavy nitromethane concentration (M50/N50) on a brand new shurflo pump after two months usage. I apologise if I post this inappropriately.
