Your upgrage will have the v9 board.
I'd like to look into upgrading to the v9 board from the v8 possibly to setup my failsafe with the alt map switching...with blowing up a engine recently I want to really make sure that I recheck all my possibilities of not grenading a motor again. I'm putting in another new(used) longblock this week

Thanks, Richard. I've sent you this information by PM, so as not to clutter this thread with personal information.

wow.. i feel your pain man.

mine died on me slowly like 10 weeks ago.. and found out that the cylinder one piston rings were deformed, cylinders 2 and 3 were getting there too, 4 was in a good shape
and also i have a burnt valve on cylinder 1..

doing a full build now, and everying should be back from the machine shop hopefully today

the reason that i found out why this was happening... was because i was running the same tune on both.. with methanol and without, and i had some knock on 4500 RPM and then it comes back on around 6000 RPM

and everyone i asked about the cause of this problem.. told me one thing... its the TUNE...

which is true...

too bad the tuner moved outta town, otherwised i would have given him a piece of my mind... but oh well.. you live and learn...

Richard L told me about ur car over the phone man.. that is sad..
i am going with the same map switching thing as you are now... and that will eleminate the use of the MAC valve...

i got the v5 patch rom already configured, waiting for the harness to arrive, and the good tuning should start

good luck with your build man..

oh Kevin.. sorry dude.. didnt mean to steal your thread from you...

I've got the V5 patch rom myself and should get my harness ordered as well I'll get everything figured out after I get the motor in but if you get yours in before me please hook me up with some feedback because I might need a little help?

As well sorry Kevin for any thread hijacking

This sucks, I just received my MAC Valve last week, but then today I received my V9 board through the mail from Richard L.

So I just wasted 32 dollars on a mac valve for nothing...

well haha the mac valve still works and they are sold out everywhere so I'm sure if you go with the tephra altmap patch then you shouldn't have a problem selling it

Why are we eliminating the macvalve? Why not have both...switch maps and intitiate the boost cut feature. If anyone wants to sell their macvalve pm me.

because you can cut boost by switching maps if you use any kind of electronic boost control

and of course my response is, "i am usinga mbc" ...so. I still like the idea of triggering 2 devices. Once i incorporate a DDS3 into mysetup. I can use my Zeitronix Failsafe + DDS3 warning once either "low flow" or settings via my zeitronix are met, the system will switch maps and trigger the mac valve.

Obviously for those as you said using a bcs system can switch to low boost, but how would they do that with a Greddy profec B?
