EVO IX map switching harness install
hey jamie, i watched ur videos on how to install the harness, and i was looking at the harness from my ecu , and it seems that in order to pull a pin out or install the new pin there is some different way to do it, than what i saw in the video , iguess the harness is diff.
can u tell me how i need to do it? im waiting for my cable in the mail, and i want to b ready when it gets here lol
thanks man

Thje video's are for Evo 8's, the 9's are completely different. There aren't any 9's locally so I never could make a video for everyone
There are pics on the forums in one of the failsafe threads. I'll try to find it.

I guess this is the right place to ask this question...
Jamie, or anyone running the harness with AEM meth, when you have the switch off (meth system off and running the normal maps) does your led still turn on when you reach the set start spray point? I've checked the system and confirmed that the meth system is off and not spraying, but the led is acting like it is...
Everything is hooked up right and tested/logged...with the switch on, I get 4.7XX volts, altmap activation = 4, meth is spraying, and I confirmed that it is running the alt maps.
Anyone else's led comes on even when the switch is off??

Thats strange indeed. The power for the LED comes from the on/off switch so if the ECU pin isn't reading 4.7v when its off, there shouldn't be any power finding its way to the LED either. Just to be certain, you got the harness with the relay and the red and black wires that connect to the AEM kit right?

I think we might be mixing up led's here, the one I'm talking about is the one that comes with the AEM meth kit, not the one on the map switch harness. Oh btw, yes I got the harness with the relay and red/black wire...red to yellow arm switch, black to green boost safe. The AEM's led is still connected as it was before the harness...one leg to battery+ and the other leg to the grey wire from the aem controller.
I logged with the switch off to make sure that the ecu wasnt getting 4.7v (which it wasnt) and that it was staying on the normal maps (which it was).
Everything works great apart from the led falsely showing that i'm spraying

Yep, its the spray led...Jamie, I know you might not be very familiar with the AEM meth kit, but how does this sound...First of all, on the map switch harness, when the switch is in the off position, is there +12v flowing through the red wire? If not, then do you think it would work if I connect the +12v source for the "spray led" to this red wire so the spray led is forced to stay off until I turn on the switch.
