I think this calculator is wrong lol - i must be reading it wrong...

ok

Enter:
560
3
100
3
4
results in 2240 cc/min

now choose 10% Desired % of Fuel to be Injected
results in 224 cc/min (10% of the above) The worksheet calls this "Calulated TOTAL WATER FLOW"

Next:
enter 50% meth mix (I presume this means a 50/50 Water/meth mix)
results in 336 cc/min "Calculated TOTAL FLOW REQUIRED".

however that's not right!

if the water flow is 224 cc/min and your using a 50/50 meth/water mix, then you SHOULD be seeing 224 cc/min of water AND 224 cc/min of Meth - not 50% of 224 cc/min Meth

ie a TOTAL FLOW of 448 cc/min (224 cc/min * 2)

Anyone think something is funny here?

The amount needed of water/meth also greatly depends on the climate you live in.

PS I don't really use the calculator. So many things can vary the amount needed.

tephra, I believe methanol flows different than water, so that is why your calculations are off. Anyone have more specific info on this?

Meth flows faster then water.

The vid got removed by the author but on youtube there was a college student the showed the surface traction loss was 2x higher in the nylon line with water then meth for a project in school (nothing to do with cars) it was for RC planes.

He was using distilled water and 67-56-1 meth.

He also noted when mixing the two that you had to let the mix sit for over 4 hours for the water molecules to absorb the meth fully giving his mix a 1.2x surface traction loss vs the orig. 2x.

So yes meth does move faster in the line and at the nozzle I am sure, pump design might even play a role in meth vs water vs mix setups.

stock rail fuel pressure should be 2,8 bar. thats the pressure the injectors see in boost
