AEM EMS + AEM Meth + HI/LO Boost from single toggle switch
AEM EMS + AEM Meth + HI/LO Boost from single toggle switch
I figured I would post this up over here also. It seems that the evo guys might have a real use for this.

hes not just controlling boost.. hes raising his boost and turning meth injection on at the same time with the flip of a switch.. good idea gonna see how that progresses
I am running ECU based Boost Control. You could also use the High Side Output to enable a boost controller.
The idea is that I can:
Advance Timing
Lean AFR's
Increase Boost a few PSI
and in the event of a meth kit fault it will return back to my good old safe Cali 91oct map.

yes i understand what hes doing. i tried this when i had my hsf 5 kit. im just saying that without using ecu based boost control both cannot be done at the same time. so a ebc will not work with what hes trying to do. that was the exact problem i ran into..
You can do it without ECU boost control. Use the HSF5 output to trigger a swap in the AEM to the NOS map, and then tune the NOS map for meth injection while leaving the base map for boost alone.
If you guys are not familiar with mac valves, they are solenoid valves that can be tied into your boost lines for boost control. Use the same output from the HSF5 to activate the mac valve, and then your external boost controller will take over. If the HSF5 isn't activated (either turned off or your not in the proper flow window), you'll be safely running on wastegate pressure. It's a very good failsafe. No toggle switch required, just a mac valve. Relatively inexpensive. If you do a search here, you will find threads describing how they work and how to hook them up.
You can also run an electronic bypass that will let you "fool" the mac valve, and control boost while the meth is off, but that's a different story that will complicate things a bit. I have a toggle switch for this within easy reach.

don't really need a switch, connect one side of the HFS relay to ground, other side to EBC or AEM input, then it will drop boost by itself upon failsafe or switching off of the meth kit.
I think that diagram is incorrect. If the HS turns off when an error is detected then as soon as the LS comes on it'll turn the system off. Then when the system turns off the LS will go away and the HS will turn back on. Then it'll detect the error again and the LS will turn back on and then the HS will turn off. So it kind of seems like it would just cycle on and off over and over again. I don't think there is any reason to turn the controller off. It should probably always stay on.
