Something wrong with my aquamist setup?
I have a Aquamist system, the DFS3 I believe...V10.....
If I boost in 4th it activate the failsafe and my boost goes from like 30 down to 17ish which is my wg pressure. It sometimes does it in 3rd but if I boost from 1st or 2nd and run through the gears it will not cut boost till at least 4th (sometimes not) and same thing in 3rd gear but I noticed the slower I build up the boost the longer it takes for it to cut out. Car does not have ecu controlled boost, only a mbc and the mac valve for the failsafe. The meth is injector duty cycle activated and is on the edge meaning the meth never turned on so i turned up the boost like 3 full turns and now it hits the meth kick on point (about 2oclock at the potentiometer) but sometimes it wont kick on since I obviously didnt hit that load yet. It's really annoying
Anyy ideas??
Thanks

If you have to turn the boost up a lot just to get the meth to activate, you're starting to spray too late. What is controlling the failsafe? The meth flow meter?
Need more info.

I'm fairly new with meth systems but from what I know yes when it senses no flow it cuts the boost.
The car was tuned for up to like 42psi....but now I'm only running 30, which is the area where the boost is at where the idc potentiometer is set at

You will most likely need to retune your car after adjusting the meth kick on point. I would make your system start spraying about 12-15psi. You may be hitting the cut off for overflow or insufficient flow. You will have to adjust the windows for flow on the DDS3.
Do you have a wideband gauge?

I did not touch the kick on point, well I did when I activated the meth to kick on to make sure there was no air lines but I turned to exactly the same position it was. Whenever it hits the failsafe there is no overflow condition because there was no flow at all. But if I do a pull from a lower gear and run through a lower gear andd then higher gears it wont do this so I dont see how its not setup right if it works as should sometimes
Yeah I got an AEM wideband with a fairly new sensor....

Having the meth trigger well before peak torque will help with knock suppression, allow leaner afr and more aggresive timing through out the powerband. Most people have it triggering around 10-15 psi.
Either that or it has a frayed or improperly installed wire.
Just some ideas...Good luck with things.
It will kick the failsafe if there is no/low flow or too much. If you are barely hitting the idc required to trigger the flow and if the window for low flow is set to high it will trigger the failsafe.

To test if the "window" is the problem. Adjust the low all the way counter clockwise , turn the high all the way clockwise. This will rule out a fail due to insufficient flow or over flow. Make sure to keep an eye out for extremely lean afr or watch for the knock if you have a light or are using the tephra mods while tesing
How many bars are displayed at peak flow?
How many bars are displayed at peak flow?
At full flow which goes from 0 bars to ALL bars within one second, which I know aint good. The SC potentiometer is set at fully clockwise, Low is set at fully CCW and high was at the 6 o'clock position. I was trying to see which way it was turned last, CW or CCW but the internal stops are obviously broken and most of the "ratchety" feeling is gone. I was going to message Richard from Aquamist to see if I could repair this myself or if I gotta send it in, but for the meantime I should get it adjusted till it shows 5-6 bars at full flow right?
Here's a vid of a WOT pull in the first 3 gears. Should the flow go from 0 to full flow that fast?
Sorry about the sidewaysness

Yes about 5 to 6 bars at full flow. The sc is used simply to setup your failsafe window. The system can be setup for progressive injection or on/off injection. If you are hitting full flow very rapidly you could be set to on/off.
Still at school and my phone is acting up. I will watch the video once I get back.

It seems from the video that the methanol is triggering kinda late. I like to have mine trigger by about 20-25% idc. I start seeing spray by 4000 rpm or so. Rpm is less important in determining trigger point than idc.
Set your trigger spray at about 12 o clock to start, when you retune. I believe that mine is set for about 11-10 o clock. I run 780cc inj.
If you need help having that cel turned off let me know. As long as it is just emmisions or a p0300, it is an easy fix.

Mine is set around the 2-4 oclock position. The cel lately has been only on for the PO243 code since I no longer have the stock boost controller, is there a way to simulate one with a resistor or in the tune? It's the only thing preventing me from passing through inspection, it goes on and off and of course the day I can go to inspection the lights on. I used to get the po300 code but havent gotten it in a month or so which I hear is pretty much normal. Anything tips for the 243 code besides buying a stock boost controller and keeping it plugged in? and would setting the meth trip on sooner make it prevent from hitting the failsafe in the higher gears?
Thanks
Thanks
Setting the failsafe window wider should have helped out with it being tripped at the higher rpm... You could adjust the trigger point but the window tells it when to cut to wastegate based on flow
Is it still tripping the failsafe for low flow? Is the WL set to about 9 and the WH set to about 5. Do you have about 5 bars at full flow.
A good place to find answers is at waterinjection.info. that is Richards forum.
Sorry it took a min to respond. I did not notice you had posted.
