Hello all!

I currently live in Cincinnati Ohio, but am staying with my girlfriend in Redondo Beach right now. I have been here off and on for weeks at a time and will be here until Feburary. I am thinking about moving here and would like to get to know some Evo owners in the area.

I would also like to know if there are any gas stations in the area that sell "race gas", octane that is at least 100. I know that the best regular gas you can get is 91 octane and my car is currently flashed for 94 octane. Al from dyno flash told me he would reflash it to 91 octane for free, but I don't want to lose the HP if I can help it so am really hoping to find a place near Redondo Beach that sells race gas.

I would also like to know if there are any "good" tunner shops in the LA area. I am thinking about getting some more work done on my car, and am trying to decide if I should take it back up to Buschur before I move here for the work or if there is a place aroud here I could take it to.

Yeah there are plenty of us @ www.socalevo.net ... I believe Harman Motive in Torrance can hook you up as a TUNER SHOP with it being it Torrance .. Also check out the infamous RRE ....

As for race gas ... I'm not from down there but there are a few 76 gas stations that have 100 @ the pump .. I use 101 Trick from Alliance Gasoline stations ...

I just posted on socalevo.net inthe newbie forum.

There are no 76 stations that sell race gas in California, I called them. They changed their race gas branding to "rocketfuel" and lost all their California distrubitors.

What is 101 Trick from Alliance Gasoline stations? I am not familiar with that.

You will not find a single public pump in this state that has more than 91 octane.
I don't know why this is, maybe because of emissions?

Edit: Sorry, I jave just learned, via another thread, of 100 octane gas in Santa Monica...at the 76 at Pico & Barrington. It was $5.99/gallon!!! OUCH! Apparently, there are some 100+ octane pumps throughout the area. Sounds like a good new thread...

 

yes - that is the only one I have documented so far... i hear of one in Humington Beach but do not have an address yet. I am trying to get a nice list put together of stations and addresses....more to come...

 

I live in Redondo Beach. I have not found a gas station with 100 octane anywhere near my home. The closest one I know of is in Brentwood -- the Union 76 station at Pico and Barrington. But they charge a fortune ($5.99 for 100 octane). Because I am going through a divorce and my kids live with my soon-to-be-ex-wife in Sherman Oaks (San Fernando Valley near where 101 and 405 cross), I buy my race gas in Van Nuys, at the Alliance Gas station, which is at the corner of Sherman Way and Woodley Ave. They charge $4.25 for 101 octane Trick gas, and they always seem to have it.
