I appreciate all the info and feedback people have been giving on this dealership and others. I would hope that nobody is lying about anything because the whole point of open forum communications is to freely exchange information to help everybody make the best decisions possible. It's smart for people to post information about being treated badly as long as they don't blow it out of proportion or lie to attempt to sway peoples decisions. Me?... I like to give people the benefit of the doubt. I know when i'm being treated fairly or unfairly and I know good quality work from bad. I trust what people have been saying about this dealership for the most part both good and bad... but I'm going to let this be up to South Coast Mitsu. And so far based on my own personal experience, I trust Mark. So tonight I'm going up there to buy an Evo MR. Oh and I DO NOT WORK FOR MITSUBISHI. I actually work for Cingular Wireless. I'll be taking pics while i'm up there and you'll see by the shirt i'm wearing so that there's no suspesion. If all goes well and I feel that I can trust Mark and the dealership then i'll be buying and Evo MR and getting everything in writing and i'll be extremely happy . And if I see mismatching numbers and attempts to sway my decision away from what I feel is best for me then I wont be buying an Evo MR ...... either way I'LL BE POSTING EVERY DETAIL ON THIS FORUM. I'LL BE POSTING THE PIX. I'LL BE POSTING MY COMPLETE UNBIASED OPINION. Nothing will be unknown to you guys.

A lot of you guys believe that they are posting good comments by creating new users which is definetly possible. It could also be ruled in that the bad comments are coming from competing dealerships. Lord knows it's hard to tell who can be trusted and who can't be, especially for me. I work for a big almost faceless corporation and I know how hard it can be for the individual consumer. I've always been on the side of the little guy and feel that what's best is what's best for the buyer, wether I get paid extra for it or not. So here's what i'm gonna do. If South Coast wants... this could be a win win for everybody. I buy a car and let everyody else on here know which would probably boost consumer confidense which would increase their sales and put a lot of big bright smiles and new evo owners faces, or they can reinforce the bad comments that have been posted on here and I wont be a new evo owner tonight and let everybody else know which will hurt their sales and help all of you guys avoid them and find good deals elsewhere. Hopefully you guys will trust me so that I can make a worth while contribution to the good information on here.

So all eyes on this thread. Everyone cross there fingers for me too. I wont stop posting either. If I buy from them then everytime I go there for service under the free maintanance offer i'll be letting you guys know how the work goes and how they treat me. Tonight the truth will be told!

From our records your car has never seen our service department. Since this post the dealership has gone through its records and do not show history of your vehicle in the South Coast Mitsubishi service department. You purchased the vehicle from our fleet department with the Out the Door Price of $32,600.00 and holding the invoice of $31,001.13. You know that we gave you a great deal.

“3. mark mercado was a jerk off also. they were just being too greedy over $25. I already shook his hand and agreed over the price and that's when abbas came over and took the keys to the evo rudely and drove it to the back lot as i was signing the papers. i left and got my evo for under 30k at miller mitsu the following day.”

This statement I do not understand? I thought you said you bought it from us?

Please stop this slander online of our company, we have many customers that have given to us great feedback about our service department and received great prices from our sales department just as you did.

If you like to know more specifics, history shows that:
12-29-04 HB Service (Alignment Issues)
3-19-05 HB Service (Oil Change)
7-30-05 HB Service (Oil Change)

We did not force you to buy the car, if there was something wrong you wouldn't have purchased it from us. About our service department, we understand that Huntington Beach is closer to your home anyway. We still appreciate that we earned your business at the time and thank you for buying a car through us. If there is anything that we can do for you in the future, don't be shy to ask us direct. We would like to work everything out and hopefully see you refer more friends and family our way.

Thank You,
Mark Mercado
Mark; those statements that I quoted were all from different people; not just myself. I am not referring to you when I speak about South Coast because my car was supposed to be purchased through fleet; but if 95% of the salesmen there are acting in an unethical manner; it speaks loads about your company. Gave me a great deal?? What do you consider a great deal??? That I got a car that already had 105 miles on it ; and was told it had almost none? That is misrepresentation. Who knows what kind of idiots put the first 100+ miles on the car? There were many things wrong but I didnt feel like waiting around; that is why I just went through with the purchase. I wanted to get it over with and the car at your dealership was what I wanted. Don't think for a damn second that your there was nothing wrong with the crooked ways that you guys operate. My work is literally 2 miles away from your company; and I could go there easily on my lunch break; but instead I go to a different dealership because I don't trust your dealership. Your owner is unethical and rude; and so are your fellow reps. I cant speak for you; but personally I wouldnt work around a den of swine like you do. And the biggest insult; you ask me to work things out and have the audacity to ask me to refer people to you shady fools? How are you going to work out the general ****ty rude attitudes your salesmen have? How are you going to work out giving me half a tank of gas and a dirty car? How are you going to work out the 105 miles that were put on my car? What about the fact that you did not let me test drive because the car has such LOW miles? Please work out my disgust at seeing your owner yell at you guys like you were his little *****es while he came in in a t-shirt and jeans; barking orders at you. You guys are really a first class act. Its easy to kiss *** and be the nice guy on the net; especially when youre trying to get leads so you can close before the end of the year; but we all know how your business operates. Thanks for fronting online though! : )

Thank You,

The person from here who traded in his cadillac ctv; did you compensate him for lying about the finance rate? If you want to be shady go ahead; but don't go two-facing on the net to prey on customers who do not know how you really are. Mark; I am done w/ talking about my experience and other peoples' experience with your company; if you would really like to make it up; then let me know. Like I said earlier; I don't know if you were one of the 5 sales guys who talked **** and tried to close me; but I hope that you are the one honest rep there who could help out potential evo owners. If you prove to be; I will be more than happy to take back everything I said and refer you to friends and family.

I got a IX MR from Mark about a month ago, and there's no special "fees" at all. OTD (including T&L) before downpayment was at about $37k. I even came in with my own loan.

Thanks Mark.

Thumbs up

I did it! I bought the Ralley Red MR!!! Oh Joy! And as I promised I'll spill all of it.

I'm sure your all curious to know how it went...... well...... IT WAS GREAT! For the most part it was a perfect buying experience. Aside from me having to dodge a few other sales people to find my way to Mark and spending an hour trying to decide between red and graphite grey I was very pleased. Mark was very truthful and patient with me. All the numbers matched up to what we previously discussed. I got exactly what was posted. All the savings I got from this deal more than took care of the sales tax and registration costs. He even got me a cheaper interest rate than we originally thought we'd get. He was totally open and even encouraged getting everything in writing. I did get that vibe from everybody there that they all worked on commission but hey it's a car dealership. Only dealerships i've been at that don't give me that vibe are the saturn dealerships.

The car was in great condition with only 7 miles on it exactly like Mark told me 2 days earlier. Still has the sticker over the MR badge below the stick shift. There was just one small blemish on the back seat which i've already gotten out. Otherwise all I need to do is wax it which i'll be doing very shortly. Man I wish they didn't have to have all these MRs sitting outside. A car like that needs to be inside if it's not waxed.

Here's a few tidbits of information that I felt were a little lame but still made sense. The free maintenance program only works if you follow the regular maintenance schedual. If you want to follow the severe schedual then your paying for almost every other visit. I remember asking a different mitsu dealership about that back when they were doing the 3 year thing and it was the same. I just forgot about it since then. They are following the exact same maintenance model that mitsu did back then so certain things aren't included in the maintenance like spark plugs even though the manual says they need to be replaced at 60K. It's somewhat understandable but arguable. No major worries for me.

So there you have it. I'll upload some pix in the next day or so when I get a chance. I would definetly recomend getting this deal from Mark at South Coast. Of course now comes the post sale experience which i'll only be able to post about with time which I have full intention of doing. I'm confident that they'll honor the free maintanance and I'll be watching the work as well to make sure it's done well. I'm at work so I gotta go but i'll post somemore in the next day or so with pix. If anybody has any questions or want more information please ask.

I want to share my experience with Mark Mercado and not with SC Mitsubishi since I did not get tha car from them but it's sister car dealer, Long Beach. It just so happened, Mark M was at that dealership and the EVO I wanted they had.
I had an Lexus IS350 spanking brand new and I think I could have not afford to traded it in so soon if not for Mark's deals here in this thread. When I got in-touch with Mark I brought with me a print out of this deal and the pay-off of my car.
We still went though haggling and stuff but I feel that is part of any dealership. I think it is called negotiating. Anyway I walked out of there with the contract clearly knowing what the breakdown of payments fo the car.
Here is where it got a little bit weired. The next day I had to go back to LB dealer to give them the second pair of keys for the IS350. Then the finance person pulled me to the side and said he miss calculated it to be lower than the real pay-off. But I stuck with my deal because I know I had paperwork to show Mark. The bottom line is, make sure you go through the deal with numbers in paper and stay with what you want to happen and if it is not what you want, just walk-off. One important thing is, do not let emotions play you. Even if you love the car that much, always think of it as a piece of metal, palstic, rubber, etc... put together. If you get involve with it to emotionally it will be hard for you to walk out. Last is -- you are the last word... so stop *****ing about things that did not go your way.

Mark gave us an opportunity to have a great deal for the EVO's, and he is the only person who can take this deal with his bosses blessing. So either wait or bust. Or go for it.

Mark! muk-ha yatang marami pang improvement kailanggan ang SC Mitsu ah... sabihin mo sa mga kasama mo diyan, gayahin yung pagka suave mo para gumanda ganda yung amoy nang dealership niyo.

You should have offered that about 3 wks earlier... . Anyways, my car arrived safely and only paid 680 in an enclosed trailer door to door from Orange County to Atlanta, Georgia....Yes, I was skeptical of hidden fees at first. But there weren't none. The dealers here in Georgia didnt' want to deal, they all wanted sticker prices. Besides, couldn't find the color I wanted locally.

I again fully recommended Mark to anyone..Unfortunately that i didn't get the free maintenance, but I did get a free tank of gas... But watch out for the RUDE finance lady...

Here are some the pics of my car.

Nice prices! What kind of interest rates are people with good to excellent credit getting? One place I looked at was like 5.75 for 48 months. I realize everyone is different so we won't hold you to any estimates.
