Option 1

If you are planning to drive your car back home you will have to pay the California sales tax based on a 7.75% tax rate and you will get a one way tag for your car, then one's you get to your state you will have to go directly to DMV and register your car and you have to pay them just the lic and registration, you dont have to pay them tax anymore.....

Option 2

If you put the car into a trailer then you wont have to pay any tax or lic here in California you will pay those one's you get to your state.....

Hope this answer all your questions ..

Thank You,[/B]
you are saying then that you are not titling the car, just collecting tax and getting a temp tag. every state that collects tax will collect it again upon titling the car once the owner gets home. If I show up in idaho with a bill of sale and need to title the car, they are going to charge me sales tax no matter what documentation you supply me with. now if you title the car for me, then that is a diff. story. then all you are doing once you get home is transferring a calif. title to your states title, which is only like $10, then registration, but you CANNOT title a car in calif. if you do not live there, so back to the statement above.
as a client, I would need to get a temp tag prior to purchasing the car from the dmv and then drive home on it. most states call it a "trip permit" and will allow you to pass through the state without plates, but you will need all the paperwork with you at all times showing you bought the car.

sounds like you have the wrong dmv lady and need to find another one.
trying to help ya out. if you sell a car to a client out of state based on the statement above, they are going to be pissed when they end up having to pay tax again once they get home and you are offering some GREAT prices on evo's that I would think will encourage others from the surrounding states with sh1tty dealerships like me to take a road trip

I flew.

From Sacramento. $120 plane ticket and a $20 cab ride. It was drop in the bucket. The three dealers here in Sacramento only have a total of about eight EVOs. You'll have a much easier time at South Coast.

Hi Sandm,

First of all i dont think our DMV and TAX lady is wrong coz i double check my self by calling the CALIFORNIA STATE BOARD OF EQUALIZATION there number is 714-558-4059 or 1-800-400-7115 its the CA STATE LAW guys...

If you take the delivery of the car from the dealership and planning to drive the car you will have to pay for CA TAX..

If you have a shipping company that will pick up the truck from the dealer then you wont have to pay the sales tax here in CA....

Check it yourself..

Thank You

for anybody that is concerned about the warranty for having modes in there car. another evo owner I met at Road Race engineering have said that long beach mit is mode friendly. Jut don't be a @ss when talking to them. just a note to all.

Evo for all. are all the dealears in your network mode friendly. I am sure anybody that wants to buy a car wants to buy a car from a dealership that is mode friendly?

I called victorville about canceling my extended warranty and when the guy I was talking was trying to sell it to me again, I aksed him about mods on a car and he told me "any performance mod will void your drivetrain warranty because it is puting more strain on the car" (I don't remember his name but he has an accent and works in finance) so hopefully that answers your question I bought my 05 evo 8 from them. they are good about getting the deal closed but as far as warranty? I haven't had a warranty service yet so I am only going buy what I was told.

He is right! Called the number personally! It is double jeapordy in my opinion however!

You will pay sales tax in CA! Now I would suggest calling your local DMV and making sure that you do not have to pay sales tax again in your state. If you do then have the dang car shipped because its going to cost you the same as the sales tax!

TX is totally different than CA!

Good job CA dealership for answering the question honestly and providing correct information!

Best regards,

Well, I flew over and met up with Mark. Went through the whole processing and ended up buying the 06 WW evo 9 MR from him. They were very cooperative and even drove me to the bank to get a cashier check. They didn't accept personal check or credit card.... Thanks for the deal and the professionalism Mark. I will recommend them to anyone. Overall, Georgia dealers couldn't beat the deal even with me shipping the vehicle back.

California has some weird tax laws, but thats how they work over there. As for the finance aka credit gal...can't say much except she was a little rude. Acted like she was doing me a favor... Guess she didn't like it bc I paid cash and didn't apply credit through them.
