to all those who just purchased their new 2006 evolution IX MR, are there subtle changes from earlier vin 2006 evolution IX MR? I know the company vin shows no difference but southcoast has been getting fresh new '06 MR's, I was just wondering whether there are any subtle improvements or changes. Thanks!

I'd think twice about using DAS if I had to do it all over again...
Car was picked up from the dealership on April 25th (I paid extra for door-to-door shipping), and I was supposed to have it by today at the latest.
Just got off the phone with DAS and the car is still sitting at their Texas hub with no explanation as to why. The customer service rep is supposed to call me back tomorrow with more information, but I'm not holding my breath.
All I can say is that after all this the car better not have a scratch on it, and I don't want to see more than a mile on the odometer from when it was picked up from South Coast.
So yeah, I don't know if I'd choose DAS if I was doing it over again. You might want to do a little bit of research before choosing a shipping company.
On a better note, Mark was great. I've been working with him since mid-March and have nothing but good things to say about how I was treated by SC.

Here's my advice. FULLY inspect the car, head to tow, inside and out and make a note of any damage. THEN (and here's the REALLY important part), "file an issue" with the driver. Tell them where you see the damage(s) and make sure they write it all down on their handy clipboard with the nice car outline. Be as specific and thorough as possible.
If you get to the point of filing a claim with DAS to be compensated for any damages, they won't even listen to you if you didn't first make it known with the driver at the time of delivery.
My driver happened to not speak a word of English, so I figured I'd call them up and speak to someone who did. Big mistake and I got screwed over it. Had I known that, I would have made the dude wait while I called them up.

They did tell me that if the car is more than 6 days past their original ETA that I'll be compensated for the delay (company policy), but in the meantime I'm still not driving the vehicle.
Luckily, the car is not my daily driver so I'm not in desparate need of it.
I guess at this point I'll be happy if it gets here undamaged, and unabused by their lot attendants/drivers.
Yeah, I think I'm going to use MATSON if I do pick up a EVO from Mark.
My sister & sister-in-law have used them to ship their cars to the mainland and back (I'm in hawaii) and I haven't heard any complaints.
DAS autoshipper's website is quoting me $1700 to ship from Carson (closest terminal) to Hawaii and MATSON only charges $899.00 from Long Beach to Hawaii. I guess the difference is probably because MATSON does alot of business in Hawaii.
Also, for those that bought car's from Mark and had it shipped, did he drive the car to the terminal for you or did you arrange to have it trucked to the terminal?
Thanks.

Went to a local dealership in my area and they sold out of all their MR's. Not sure if the MR's are selling quicker nowadays since production is going coming to an end this year.
Also the dealership was selling the MR's at MSRP and not budging on the price, so the Sotuh Coast delas are looking great still even with the increase
