My sister & sister-in-law have used them to ship their cars to the mainland and back (I'm in hawaii) and I haven't heard any complaints.
DAS autoshipper's website is quoting me $1700 to ship from Carson (closest terminal) to Hawaii and MATSON only charges $899.00 from Long Beach to Hawaii. I guess the difference is probably because MATSON does alot of business in Hawaii.
Also, for those that bought car's from Mark and had it shipped, did he drive the car to the terminal for you or did you arrange to have it trucked to the terminal?
Thanks.

Avoid DAS if you can (IMHO) I know people who have had a good experience with them, but mine was brutal. Lies and delays.....the ultimate insult was floor mats stolen out of the trunk of the car; and who knows what goes on with your car as it sits for days on end waiting for a truck in some wrecking companys lot..
I just called work today and they recieve 30 Evo GSR today....if you want to pick up one let me know send me a msg so i can set you up an appointment....
Thank You
PS no MR and SSL yet still waiting..........

Mark - it's chris from Vegas. Looks like i'll have to put the evo on hold for a few months
I'm trying to straighten out my credit first so i can get a better interest rate. I'm still coming to you go get an evo - it's just going to take a little longer

My car finally started moving again this afternoon after sitting in their Texas facility since last Thursday. Mind you, this is after sitting at their Carson California lot for over a week...
I've had to make numerous phone calls, and while polite, not one of their Customer Service Reps really knows anything. Plus, it seems like their main job is to get you off the phone as quickly as possible - each and every time I spoke with them they promised to call me back with more info, and each and every time it was me that had to call them back.
To this date, I still have no idea what the hold-up was.
Of course, even though the truck's moving again, they're telling me that it still has numerous stops to make before it arrives in Pittsburgh (where it'll be brought up to me), so they're not anticipating the actual delivery date until May 16th, a full week later than their original date (which I was assured when I placed the order was at the very outside, and I should be actually receiving the car sooner than that).
Really kind of sad that this is right before I have to make my first car payment on a vehicle I've never even seen yet...
As goforwand said, I'd definately avoid DAS if I was doing it all over again, and look at some other shipping company (look for reviews at Epinions or How We Rate for some alternate choices.

I sold my 03 to a guy in mississippi and used white auto transport, a small transport company out of the midwest. he was awesome to deal with, met me at a convenient spot and appeared to be one to take real good care of the car. if you want a number, pm me if you are buying a new car from south coast anytime soon. we looked into das, and they were a few$$ cheaper, but sitting in a wrecking yard lot for up to 2 weeks was not an option that we wanted to explore.
cost us $800 to haul from boise idaho to jackson miss. took 9 days from setup to get the car picked up and 7 days to get the car back east, which was exactly as promised.

It just seems that they're a very poorly run organization (which would account for some people having no problems with them, and others having nothing but).
This inconsistency is one of the main issues with them that would prevent me from ever recommending them to others.
