Phoenix and local areas Clutch install?
Anyone know where i can get a straight clutch install with a new flywheel? my **** retarded HOA got a fit when i installed a friends chassis braces in.
without ripping me off for a Lexus IS300. since its RWD its alot easier than a AWD platform. any recommendations?

i wouldnt let dynocomp touch my car with a 100 mile pole.
haven't tried vividracing, the only known company i would go with is Kingpin in Gilbert. they do some of the best engine work, R&R and blueprinting in the city compared to alot of others that claim this and that.
and 6-700 for a clutch install is absurd.
anywhere else? maybe for the pricing people are charging im going to have to find a way to do it myself?
thanks guys

From my understanding it flags 8 or 9 hours from Mitsu. so that's why shops charge what they do. Just make sure you have it done right the first time. I for one trust DynoComp. Joe is one helluva mechanic and he really knows his stuff just like Engineer at Mynes. Too bad Buschur isn't closer because they are cheapest
by far.
by far.

Altezzabob,
If you are located in Fort Huachuca then IAperformance is a good deal for you because they are located in Tucson and they offer competitive prices. They also have a mechanic on duty which specialized on the 4G63.
If you don't mind driving an extra hour/hour and a half then I would recommend Mynes Performance since they have done many clutches as well. My third choice would be Dynocomp in Phoenix as well.
Last but not least, there is a local Evo Owner in Tucson that can do a clutch fast and cheaper than any shop (PM me for details), this person is very knowleadge as well.
Please pm and I will give you all names and points of contacts as well as recommendations.

AltezzaBOB,
Since I dealt and I have been a customer with almost all the shop in the Tucson and Phoenix Area I will break it down even more for you:
Dynocomp (Richard Garcia) is always the "Madame Fleiss" of Scottsdale, because his shop is known to be the cleanest and because of his location this guy charges you the most.
- Mynes performance from what understand does very good job unfortunately they aren't to supportive if you bring a clutch other than the one that they sell (ATS), they wouldn't do my Exedy but if you were to buy their clutch you wouldn't regret, their quality is top notch and the price is somehow competitive
- IAperformance normally try to match the best prices you find around, additionally Stephen(the owner) likes to work to the perfection and will never do a s h i t y job no matter what. Stephen gives you 100% labor satisfaction.
- Kingpinperformance probably has the most experience doing clutches. They do engine and tranny swapps absolutely all day long and they do have decent prices.
- The person that I know that does the clutchs much cheaper is Ray(rraulston), he can do the clutch very fast and very well done. The good is the price and his knowledge, the bad is the inconvenience of his weird primary job schedule.
I know of other shops that could do the clutchs installs but I have my reservations to comment.
- The mitsubishi dealer ideal or blackcat have the same ownership. They will charge you 11 hour labor for the 5 speed and 12 hours labor for the 6 speed, additionally, the service manager will try to convince you that a new flywheel must be install because they don't support resurface flywheels with new clutches. You will have hard time having them to honor you warranty if you don't by their flywheel.
Again, feel free to send me a pm. I have done extensive research in the AZ area for the Evo clutches shops. I don't want to give you prices because I could be wrong however I can provide you with the labor cost I got from various shops around AZ.

The misinformation in here is staggering.
Rich has installed clutches on two Evos that I personally know of, and charged 550 for labor. (then again they were return customers that have gone to him fo other stuff too) If people trust Rich witht heir 6 figure exotics I could trust him with my ****box evo.
Mynes I hear does good work. although If I walked in with an act clutch and flywheel in the box and they threw their noses up in the air and said they wouldnt install it unless I bought their 2000.00 clutch Id walk out and never give them any of my business.
