Pure_Evo, I would tune for E85 and leave it at that. If/when there is a switch over to E70, you will simply be a bit more enriched and a bit less knock resistant. Assuming you have the knock light mod, just keep an eye on the CEL. Worst case, you might need to turn down the boost a little in the winter.

If you ever make it into Tucson, we should plan to meet up.

Jim

I understand what you mean and I'll take it all into consideration. I might just have my tuner take out some timing as well as I'm set up for ECU-controlled boost with the Tephra map switching. My 2.3L build won't be finished until the summer as I'm moving to Fort Huachuca to take a contracting job. I do plan to make the drive to Tucson and maybe we can get our schedules to marry.

Hey everybody! Just dropping a line...I don't drive an EVO, but my lady has a 03 Lancer. We are looking to get into the EVO scene. Anyone know of dealerships that have any EVO's in stock down in the Valley?

Hello,

Yes...Mark Mitsubishi in Glendale has a couple. A White EVO X on the showroom floor and out on the lot is a Black EVO IX with pretty low miles and no mods on it....its in good shape.

I was there last weekend.

What on earth is up with Phoenix home pricing? I'm looking at the home pricing on Homes.com, and its just ridiculous. $130,000 homes there are around $275,000 plus here (central Illinois). I understand there is no basement, but good lord. Were there just a lot of foreclosures or what is going on?

How do I go about telling what neighborhoods are good? I'm seriously considering just picking up and transferring out there.

Thanks,

Chris

tons of forclosures in the valley...and lack of jobs..state itself has no money. I'd only move out here if you company was tranfering you out here otherwise you could be looking for a longtime for a job....so the news says.
I've got a house in Tucson also and its worth over $400,000 now with the way the market is ...some guy bought a house down the street for $180,000 and this neihborhood has a HOA. Its sad...especially if I ever wanna sell that home in Tucson.

Attention Phoenix Evom members...

I'm saving up to have a wideband installed in my VIII. Since there are no longer any tuner shops in Tucson, where in Phoenix would you suggest I have this done?

Thanks!

Although I'm having a 2.3L build in San Antonio at the moment, I've been told (recommended) to take my car to UMS Tuning in Mesa, Arizona for all of my EVO needs.

In all politeness, you are very wrong. There are two big tuners (at least) in Tucson - PSI and IAPerformance:

Performance Specialties and Innovations [PSI] (Archie)
3544 North Romero Road, Tucson, Pima, AZ 85705
(520) 293-6620‎

Both are very reputable and have very many happy customers!

I thought I heard IAperformance close shop too...I'd go there everytime when living in Tucson. I've been to Vividracing and I'm not impressed at all...I got a tune on my car there and cam put in and still having issues with overboost after the dynotune. I been there twice after which no results in fixing it properly..I'll be going to other shops in the valley. Nice to know IA is still open.

iA Performance did most of the mods on my VIII, so I am a big fan-boy. However, last time I was by the shop it was definitely closed.

I'm pretty close to the iA shop location, so I'll check again. I know they are still doing web sales; I think just the shop closed. Web site is definitely open!

Is this Archie that used to work at iA?

I couldn't find a web site for PSI, but I did find a very nice brochure. I'm guessing this is in fact Archie - technician, tuner and fabricator extraordinaire.
