Las Vegas Evo's
Sickey has shot more weapons than most on this board can dream of. Hes a former marine that worked in several mos's including sniper. Hes has some good experience with whats out there. Myself, I just shot stingers and 50 cal. autos. Missles and full autos are the only way to do anything right.
I was just wondering.....weapon choice is a lot of personal preference...what feels good in your hands is what works.
I too have fired a great deal of weapons. Been shooting guns since I was 10.
Sickey...dont take it as an attack.
On another note, I finally changed my tranny fluid and installed my front brakes. Damn things are so f*cking loud. I didnt put the shims from the Brembos on because there were shims on the Hawk pads and I wanted to see what would happen. I did use copper anti-seize though.
Some other weekend I will put the shims back in. I think the mitsu service manual says what kind of adhesive to use...need to double check.

How are your brakes loud? I did the entire brake system. Lines, pads, and rotors and got an occasional squeak when coming from to a stop from 5mph-0 right after the install. Since then, nothing.
they squeal really loud at less than 10mph. I went to st. rose prkwy and bedded them in not to long ago (I had to wait till night for the traffic to ease up)
The right side I can hear something dragging. Its not slowing the car, but you can hear the pads on the rotor as I am driving, constantly. They stop great and when heated they dont make a sound, even at low speeds. But as soon as they cool off....damn they are loud.
I may need to turn the rotors. The stock pads left high spots on the very outer edge and inner edge of the rotors. Pretty much the thickness of the stock pads, rather, where the stock pads ended and the small amount of rotor that never got used is where the high spots are. You can see it clearly in the daylight. I may need to take a pic for you to see.
Jon saw it at the last auto-x and told me not to turn them. But now I dont know.
The installation is so damn easy, its really hard to f uck it up.

just give it some time.....your rotors looks okay from outside but don't know from the inner....but again if money is no object buy new ones....I don't like turning rotors specially for racing purpose never did never will recommend.

Last I heard, technically your supposed to turn the rotors every time you change the pads. But I've heard of and read differing opinions on that.
I guess I will just wait and see what happens. It sounds like crap though. I dont care about the squealing, just the metal dragging sound. I suppose they just need to wear into the rotors some. I'll give it a week.

Lets swap engines and engine management.
