Las Vegas Evo's
It's unfortunate to hear about all this, Tom.
Sorry, man.
But… I'll leave you with a few words of encouragement and support. I speak from experience and support you 100%, bro. My wife went to school locally to become an aesthetician over 4 years ago and it was one of the greatest decisions she's ever made. She was working as a spa attendant at Treasure Island at the time. Around 6 months and $3,000 is all it took for her to go to school and receive her license to practice. She already had her foot in the door with the company and an aesthetician position opened up at the Mirage Spa. She was able to transfer and landed the position. This year she'll clock damn near 4 times what she made when she was at TI.
I thought this might be sort of an inspiring story for you.
There's definitely money to be made in the field, especially in this town. I think you're making a damn good decision and I wish you the best of luck! You'll be able to import an FQ400 when you're done!

Damn, sorry to hear about your situation! I can relate to the real estate tax issue....pure BS!!! I almost fell over when the tax statement came in the mail. UGGH
Like you said though, hopefully next year when things get a little under control and you're done with school you can buy another Evo/car.
I think you should put your Evo up for $28k or $29k. When we were out in Cali this past weekend, we went to a couple of the Mitsubishi dealers out there for the hell of it. We came across 2 used 03's, one with 13k miles and the other with 15k miles and they were asking OVER $30k for both of them!!!!! The MR's were priced at about $44k with the mark-up and the extras on them!!!! What a joke.....
Being that your car has excellent mileage and has never been abused, you should have no problem getting a decent amount for it. Yeah, the new ones are out but for those people that can't afford to buy new, this might give them the opportunity to own an Evo and even though it's not brand new, they would be more than willing to buy used because it's under $30k for it. All I can say is goodluck with trying to sell right now. We have had a hell of a time with the truck. A few offers, alot of people blowing smoke up our asses, but nothing seriously worth considering. I just hope you have better luck.
Goodluck!

Thanks for the kind words Lee and Allie.
The cosmetology field is very hot right now, especially locally. Every woman and even men want to look good, be pampered. Spas and salons are taking off and charging big money. I wanted to do this for many years but put it off. I have the skills for it. I already cut hair but not trained formally. The school I'm going to is top notch, Euphoria located at the Lakes. It's an excellent program and you get a full licence to work anywhere in the USA and able to do hair, skin, nails, waxing, hair color. Well worth it for the money and you automatically get in with their chain of salons upon graduation if you'd like. They claim you make over 40k right out of school.
I do need to set my priorities. Things are getting out of control locally with taxes, utilities, insurance, food, everything. And my salary has not gone up to offset it. This car is very expensive to own and operate. I figure if I keep it, it will need new tires and a clutch in 05 sometime. That's well over 2K for both.
I would love to get at least 26 for the car. The dealers in So Cal are crazy but I guess the demand over there is much more than here. I may list the car on SoCalEvo.net.
What do you think is the best way to advertise it? How about the books you get from the grocery store that has a pic of you car? Ebay? Autotrader.com?
I will first need to set a price and I'm up in the air over it. 7500 miles, clean, no scratches or dings, lightly modded that is reversible, never raced, clutch is still very good, tires okay, brakes pads good. Did 5 oil changes already, changed the driveline fluids once. Basically overkill on the maintenance. Garaged, waxed, sunroof.
Douglas Nissan has Adam's blue Evo that he traded up for sale for 27,888, but he had 25k miles and I'm sure a few blemishes.

Yeah, sucks but with the money I get selling the car, I will put away 5K-10K or so and next year after school I will be in a better situation and get into something else. Not a problem. My credit score is over 800 and have not damaged it so it should be no problem getting into another car.
Cool thing is I have a buyer already. Won't say who it is though yet.
John, where do you live now?
Does anyone know a shop that can install my clutch and flywheel? Job duration? Price? Thats all I need.. and ofcourse direction? Also, Jon are you still trying to get rid of your short shifter.. or anyone.. let me know.. I just ordered my Boost controller should be in by the end of the week.
