Thanks for bringing that out Casey.
We can clear that up now. The correct fluid was in there before LDL touched it.
Keep going trying to blame the customer
Shops never make mistakes

I've been doing some reading too, learned that transfer cases quite often go out after the first clutch install. Its pretty interesting reading really. It can be found here on the site after searching.

Has one of the worst customer support regarding warranty claims and the Evo esentially has none when it comes to powertrain items.Transfer cases have a higher rate of failure after a strong aftermarket clutch is put in.
designed the stock clutch relatively weak so that it would be the first line of defense against bigger problems. It takes the sacrifice rather than the more expensive transfer case and such. Plus
can refuse warranty work since the clutch is a wear and tear item. There are many Evo owners with stronger aftermarket clutches and perfectly fine transfer cases. You have to slip the clutch with an aftermarket rather than dropping the clutch like you can on the OEM one. And if you don't drag the car, the aftermarket clutch will be fine and there are plenty of 350 WHP Evos on this site without TC problems. In fact, the Dynoflash Evo ran 10 seconds and many many 11 second runs on the stock TC and carbon carbon clutch but it has to be slipped to take the shock off the TC and a smooth transition of power to the driveshafts.
That's why we can argue till we're blue in the face about John's. Since there are so many factors, you cannot prove it one way or the other who is to blame, if anyone on this. I have my opinions and I have nothing personally against LDL. I would say the same regardless of who did the work, even the dealership. If in fact LDL did put in the wrong fluid or added the wrong fluid to the captured OEM fluid, then it's safe to say it burned up due to that. Sounds so innocent to add some gear oil but that's all it takes to ruin the bearings after sustained high speed driving. Maybe it can be rebuilt, I don't know.
I'd rather have a constructive conversation about this subject rather than pot shots and personal attacks at each other. This is interesting and I would like to know what happened and many other Evo owners on these boards would like to know how to extend the life of their drivetrain.
I am in no way saying Dennis is a hack mechanic. In fact, I have heard only good things about his work from a couple different people.

i'm back on-line today.just read the whole LDL/my car posts.
you guys are great.
update as of now.my car is at LDL being worked on.we'll have the problem solved, and figured out soon.my biggest problem i had over the weeks, was that it looked like LDL didn't want to work on the car anymore.which made me upset
.dennis is a good person, and he did the install of the clutch correct.to clear up the oil problem,i don't recall dennis saying anything about bringing in TC fluid.i do remember him saying just the transmission oil, which i provided 3 qts of BG tranny fluid.i would of gave him the OEM TC fluid, cause i had a bunch just sitting around.everything is fine right now.i just hope dennis can fix it without having to buy a new transfer case.i would still like to keep dennis(if he still chooses to work on my car after this) for the only other guy who works on my car besides myself.thanks for everyone who has defened me while i was away for the internet do to moving around, and not having access to evom.

After reading the posts made by some of your friends in here, I'm sure you can understand Dennis hesitating to work on any Evo in town after all of this. (I wouldn't blame him, who wants to get blamed for a factory item failing?).
When more of these transfer cases start going out here in town, we'll see who the fingers get pointed at next. Hopefully you all can have as much wrath for those other shops when it starts happening to you.
I really hope everything works out for you though John, I'm also glad you are still very positive about the whole ordeal.
Hey Rowdy not to bust your bubble but you said
For everyone else that has nothing to do with what happened, get a life and mind your own business.
Then your wife gets in on the action. haha F ucking Classic.

Dude they were just defending him. Nothing wrong with that. Those are the best friends you can get. People are very critical on how work is done and especially on a vehicle they love. All this fighting and no one has gotten anywhere.
Not to be a d ick Rowdy, but you do post some bulls hit up. Like saying its cheaper to take a civic into the 12's than an evo. You didn't have all the facts, some but not all. But in turn, with all this argueing about LDL and John, you turn around and tell someone else to get the facts.
Just something I noticed reading and not replying, letting everything sink in.
Hopefully all this bickering is over and we can get back to f ucking posting nonsense and what not. That was way more fun.

I can also think of three all motor Hondas that LDL assembled engines for locally, (they also go twelves).
But I don't say this because I have anything against Evos, thats why I post here - because I like the cars and want to learn more about them, (I'm still torn between getting one for a daily driver or a full size truck).
Okay. We heard from John and everything is cool. He seems pleased and I'm glad and hope everything works out for everyone involved.
I think Rowdy still refuses to believe it was bad oil and it was abuse and predicts more TCs going out and wants to say "I told you so" when they break.
Thanks, Alex. Yeah I'm pretty mellow and I can express my feeling better on the keyboard rather than arguing face to face.
Give us updates on this whole thing, John. I'm gonna keep quiet and let you give us the scoop.
